Toilet paper, crucial!

3 things in life that I don't like to falter on:

Good TP
Coffee
My pillow (not the brand, but MY pillow)

Is the fantastic Members Mark (Sams) tp acceptable for use? We will be full timing, this is an important thing. My wife said "O don't want to have to buy 4 rolls for $10 from a camping store!!

Any help would be appreciated. We are ordering our 4113 today!

Not familiar with that particular brand, but if it's "septic safe" you should be ok. We haven't used RV specific TP in a couple of years and haven't had a problem. We are sure to use a lot of water when flushing though.

I have used the Sams Members Mark tp for 3 years now without tissue issue, dissolves quickly. IMO, this is the best tp on the market today and for those that haven't tried it, you're really missing out on something that is wonderful for wiping your butt.

Have used Costco TP for years with no problem. No need to use any special paper.

We use Coleman TP, but up until this year with Covid the toilet was just for nighttime and emergencies since we are normally at Provincial Parks with flush toilets. This year it had much more regular usage.

One thing to check is to see how well the TP dissolves.

When the TP shortage hit, I suggested to my son to try an experiment to see how well TP (and other paper) dissolves in water.

He tried our regular TP (Charmin), our camping TP (Coleman), a kleenex (Kleenex brand), and a paper towel (Bounty). Put 2 squares of TP, and one each of the others into a 500ml mason jar with water and shook it up.

The Coleman TP dissolved pretty quickly into tiny individual pieces. The Charmin went into even smaller pieces (almost like cloudy water), but after it settled seemed to be more of a paste. (Kleenex and Bounty stayed pretty much intact).

Do a test with whatever you want to use and see how it dissolves. My only concern with non-septic/trailer TP is does it become a paste, and how much will that affect things in the black tank? If you can use tons of water if you are connected to a sewer, probably doesn't matter. If you try and conserve water if you are boondocking or have to move the trailer to dump, it may make a difference.

Either way, water is your friend for black tanks.

The real test to determine if TP is RV safe. Take a couple squares, place it in a container like an old mason jar with cup or two of water (amount really does not matter, just plenty of water). Close the container. Give it a light shake, let it sit for a few minutes. If it dissolves it is good for the RV.

I have seen some YouTube videos that does this test, but they vigorously shake the jar for a minute or more. It is dissolved when they are done. I do not like that test, as how many of use really "Shake, wipe-up, stir" the black tank water. If it dissolves with a light shake, it will not cause issues.

One more for Sam's Club Members Mark with Angel Soft if we can't get it.
And I use as much as I want. Happy Camper in the tank.

This video did a good job of comparing several brands.

Extra soft is good. Extra strong does not dissolve. The is true for many brand names.

Septic safe is not always RV safe because septics have months or years to dissolve solids whereas an RV only has a few days.

This is such a crappy subject...

You may as well use something that dissolves well and is soft.

Watching the tests posted here was fun... for a few minutes. for years, we purchased the mainstream "RV TP" brands, then about 5 years ago I said what the heck, lets see what happens. We started using our home TP (Charmin) and have not had one issue. This has worked for us, maybe not recommended, but until I have a clog, its the way we...roll

Yeah me too. When I bought my first camper we were using the single ply RV paper and using 3 times as much. I said the hell with that and started using what I wanted and no problems for the years after that.

I think COSTCO Kirkland Brand is good too!
Been using it for years, never had any issues.

OK, COSTCO, Vs SAMS...
