Top ten camping abilities .. humorous..

I noticed today that a new member is asking what the top ten items are that you need for your new trailer. Well I thought I should mention that in addition to these ten material items, there are Ten very important abilities to have if you are going to be a dedicated Jayco owner.. Please feel free to add any others that come to mind.

Never mind material items... dont forget to pack your Top Ten Must have Camping abilities...lol

1. Ability to wash dishes in a sink the size of a bowl
2. Ability to get along with your spouse while backing a large trailer into a small camp site, in the dark, while it is raining.
3. Ability to admit that you have packed WAY TO MANY things, and thats why the trailer seems to be towing badly.
4. Ability to tune out other peoples music, screaming children and barking dogs.
5. Ability to keep busy and or keep children busy on a rainy day in a space that is under 200 square ft.
6. Ability to take a shower in under 3 minutes.
7. Ability to take recognize a certain snapping noise that your canopy makes, that tells you that you have 60 seconds to take it down, before it is ripped off by the wind.
8. Ability to dump a septic tank.. or to charm your spouse into this chore.
9. Ability to make lunch in 100 degree heat, standing between your trailer slide and the counter ... because your on the road and have no air conditioning.
10. Ability to laugh at your self, laugh at your spouse, and laugh at your circumstance and life in general!

Ability to have the "guts" to tell your spouse that you want to do this full-time.

There'd be a lot more room in the TT if I pulled that one out....

The longer I have had my trailer, the more appealing full timing sounds. I would happily accept the inconvenience of the items on the above list, in order to get rid of some of the stresses that come with an average North American lifestyle.

That is one of the advantages of a MH. It's cool when we stop for lunch and to keep it that way we fire up the geny. Also when you arrive at your destination your not fighting that "hot box" when setting up.

As for the rest, "You betcha"

I agree that most couples challenge would be #2. While I appreciate that my wife often mistakes me for Superman, I dont really have x-ray vision. She thinks I do when she gets our of sight from my mirrors but continues to waive her arms behind the rear of the TT giving me directions. It's so funny you can only laugh and continue setting up your rig.

I can relate to every single one. I have, however, fixed number 9 by pre-making sandwiches & putting in fridge beforehand.

How true... I just read them... the next RV will be a motor home... no full timing for me.. I still need a base of operations for a few months out of the year... and the only problem I have with "RETIREMENT" is, I never get a day off any more... DW keeps me healthy with a zillion work orders... need more time to add toys to the TT
Don
Lunches are pre-made in the cooler in the TV .. still would rather have a nice loaded hot dog and fries for lunch on the road with an ice cold Pepsi :-)

I think this should be applied to the old Nike slogan..."Just Do It!"

#2 is the truth! If I had a nickel for every time I've tried to stay calm while stopping the truck to remind my wife "Honey....if you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you" well I'd have enough for a down payment on a new trailer.
