Tow capability

Hello,
We have a Toyota Thunder 5.7 V8 and are looking to purchase a Jayco WhiteHawk 28RL. I’m concerned if my truck can handle the tow. Our truck can pull 9600. The unloaded weight is 6500 and loaded is 8200.
Does anybody have an insight? Thanks.

You need to be sure that you're within the hitch weight capacity of the Tundra as well as stay under the GCWR of the truck + the trailer. The White Hawks run pretty light on the tongue. What year and wheelbase is your truck?

I would suggest visiting a CAT Scale and get your TV weights. The scale ticket will give you the GVW and GAW for both axles.
At max TT weight (8200#) you can expect about 1200# on the tongue. The difference between the Rear GAWR and the rear axle weight (from the scale ticket) will be the available payload of the rear axle. Is it enough for the estimated tongue?
The CAT Scale is your friend.

You’ll be fine. We pulled a WH 29REKS with a Tundra and were within all limits. Something you may want to consider though is air bags or Roadmaster Active Suspension (RAS). We added RAS and it made a world of difference in ride quality.
