Towing a Toyota Tundra

Does anyone tow a Toyota Tundra. I would like to tow mine but would like to talk to someone who is already towing one

The Tundra's not able to be flat towed, unless there's been extensive modifications done to it. The transfer case is electronic, and has no neutral position. You would, at the least have to remove both front and rear driveshafts, and reinstall before unhooking. Not fun.

I only know of one company that did modification work, and that was Remco. That was years ago. You could look them up, and get their expert opinion.

Another way would be to put it on a car trailer, and tow it that way.

JFlight..Thanks for the reply I am aware of Remco and the driveshaft disconnect that they use to sell. While Remco no longer sell them, they did indicate they did sell them for the 2010 Tundra, other companies sell the same equipment. Also, mine is RWD so the modifications should be a little simpler(I hope)

You're welcome. We never see a RWD Tundra around here, I was assuming it's a 4X4. That may make the difference on possibilities for you. Good luck on your search. Let us know if you find a system that'll work on them.

Local dealership (Toyota) told me it would require a auxiliary pump, connected to the existing fuse panel, that would pump oil through the tranny. Cost was around $1,500 and that was five years ago. And, some states are requiring the brake buddy install for flat towing.
