Trailer brake controller wiring

New tow vehicle (2016 ram 1500 pickup truck). I took the brake controller off the old truck. (2014 Silverado). Draw tite controller. Need a new wire for the new truck. Does it matter what brand of wire I get? Mike Dickinson

I bought a Tekonsha brake controller wire harness off Amazon. So little difference the no names might as well get genuine.

Alternatively, if you can't find name brand, buy and if it won't fit, send it back.

I would think that as long as it fits on both ends it will work. Just make sure that it is listed for use with both your controller make/model and your specific vehicle.

What brand of wire? No. Just make sure you use the right gauge wire. You don’t want it to be too thin.
