Trailer woe's

Well I was getting things ready to go South for the winter. I had just moved my trailer forward and was setting down the last stabilizer when all of a sudden there was a groan and creak and... I got out of the space between the trailer and the fence with 0.05 seconds to spare.... I had to call a tow truck to come in and lift up the trailer and set it straight in the driveway.. Axle stands under the A frame New parts on their way.. fence will be fixed in the spring...

+1 on the glad you got out! That could have been a real disaster. Hope there's no damage to the front corner of the Eagle, it looks to be holding it up with some force considering the angle the trailer set in at.

Could be worse.

I almost had mine roll into the woods at my house. I forgot to chock the wheels unhitching. Luckily I always leave a safety chain connected as I lift it off the ball mount. It rolled back and the jack dug a trench as it slipped back and the chain was as tight as a steel beam !! it was a bear to get it back high enough on a hill to re-hitch it !

Ultra fab... its over 8 years old... the metal fatigued.. they commented on how old the unit was... Now I know that when I think something is not quite right to CHANGE IT... of course I was packing to leave for Arizona and now it is sn*wing here...

X2,
I am wondering the same thing. It is possible to overload those jacks.

Good time to replace it with a Barker jack. I changed my junk out pretty quick. We've only had one incident, and that was with a quick flip jack addition. It looked locked in, done it 100's of times, but then collapsed just as my daughter was fixing to walk up to me between the truck and trailer. She split quick as I did. Never again will I use a time saver like that. Not worth it.
