Trip

We are going to Inks Lake State Park in Texas in a couple of week, really looking forward to the weekend trip.
Has anyone been there and what are sites best?
We are taking our 7 year old grand son and he is as excited as I am.

Bubbdan,

We camped there several weeks ago for 4 days and really liked it. If you kayak at all then you are in luck as Inks Lake is a great lake to Kayak on. We stayed in site 58 and really liked the site, but in that same area site 210 is the one I would try to get next. A large site right on the water with plenty of shade. Let us know how your trip turns out!

KAYAK???? *jealous* Ohhhhhh Man! When we hit Texas, I will definitely hit the Texas Jayco Owners contingent up for suggestions on where to go! (We're heading to the Mid-West this summer so can't do the lakes of Texas this year)

We love to kayak, so we always try to hit spots that have kayak(able) water. I love to watch the sunset while sitting in my kayak on a river or a lake

Sounds like Inks Lake may be on our list to camp. Some of my most memorable moments kayaking were while watching sunsets with Don and Breezi (yup, we take Breezi kayaking too.... she loves it!). Here's Breezi and I on Lake Oconee, Georgia last year

Last Spring we drove straight through to Alabama and slowed it down to spend the next two+ weeks camping at lakes from Alabama to Georgia. We then headed to Myrtle Beach then Cape Hatteras. From there, Virginia where we camped and visited relatives. On the way home, we tried to stay anywhere we could kayak! We were gone nearly 6 weeks. Then in Sept when we picked up our tt from Indiana, we left the kayaks at home. The new model Ford F150 didn't yet have the roof racks to carry kayaks yet. Not sure if we will take our kayaks on our planned two month trip to the mid-West in August..
