Glad you replied, my first thought was television, not Tow Vehicle.
GVWR for that HTT, is 4,920 lbs. So you need a TV that can support that amount of weight, plus all your passengers and everything else you will put in the TV. Remember if you have kids they will grow and bring a lot of stuff with them. Often friends too.
Tongue weight should be between 10-15% of the GVWR of the HTT. For calculations you should use 15%, so about 750#, WDH figure about 75-100#. Most TV's do there calculations with an average 150# driver and a full tank of full. So you can reduce the average driver weight from the rest of your calculations.
Remember any vehicle modifications like toppers, roof carriers, body kits are all part of your payload calculations.
The 19Z has two bunks so let's assume Husband, Wife, and two kids, plus a dog.
- 200# Husband
- 0# Wife (150# TV drive allowance)
- 150# kids (2 small kids, remember they grow)
- 75 # Dog
- ??# DW's hand bag
- 100# kid's entertainment (bikes, trikes, books, electronics, just kid stuff)
- 50# cooler (back of TV)
- 100# adult entertainment (corn hole game, bikes, what nots)
- 750 # tongue weight
Estimated payload 1,425 lbs.
I would recommend adding about 20% reserve so as the kids grow, you have room for them to grow into. Also sometimes on longer or special occasion trips more stuff or kids come with.
I would recommend looking for something with a payload capacity around 1,700 pounds.
