tv antenna replacement

Has anyone replaced there stock crank up tv antenna the winegard rs-3000 roadstar antenna? I have a 2016 eagle 345 bhts fifthwheel and there is a leak at the antenna crack handle. I've had it to the dealer twice for this issue. The first time they reapplied the sealant around the antenna and replaced the worm gear o-rings, still leaked, then they tightened a nut from the inside and said that should fix the problem. It did until we went on our first trip of the season, the road vibrations must of loosened it up again. Anyway I was wanting to just get rid of the crack up antenna and replace with stationary to solve the leak issue and the extremely poor placement of the crank handle. I've read some reviews on the winegard rs-3000, some have said that it is a direct replacement for the batwing crank up antenna. Does anyone know if the existing wiring will work for the new antenna. I don't want to run new wires up the roof. Thanks for any help

I replaced my crank up antenna with a King Jack non crank up antenna on my old jay flight. My new jay feather has a non crank up antenna. While I can not answer the winegard question, I can tell you that the King Jack was a direct replacement as far as the wiring goes. The swap was easy to do. I purchased the antenna, the mounting plate, dicor to seal everything and stainless steel screws to secure the mounting plate.

I had the same problem as you with a small leak around the antenna crank. Also had it in and fixed by the dealer twice and still leaked. Finally replaced it with the King Jack antenna and no more leaks. I will say this, my reception was better with the stock crank up antenna. Most people seem to like their king jack. I use satellite anyway so the regular tv reception does not matter much to me.
