tv reception and the winegard wingman

Has anyone tried the Winegard Wingman to boost digital tv reception. Looks like it should be easy to install and not too expensive but curious if it actually works.

The wife and I put one on our antenna today but haven't tried it out. I'll get the TV out there before the weekend to see how well it works though a friend put one on his antenna and had good results.

I await with somewhat dubious disbelief to find out how my ole TV signal gathering device, with added gizmo, will indeed project a better signal unto ye ole TV picture showing box, indeed. Uh, yeah.... I think.

I have one and it did improve my reception. We are now on a seasonal site and we get more channels. Funny thing about digital TV signals, they are very directional. With analog signals sometimes the picture was fuzzy. Not so with digital signals, you either get a signal or not. The wingman seems to 'concentrate' the incoming signal. As far as installation goes it took me longer to climb up on the ladder and over to my antenna than it did to snap the wingman in place.

Forgot to mention, use the signal strength meter on your digital TV and rotate your antenna until you get the strongest signal. Bad thing is we get signals from 2 different directions and I do have to rotate the antenna depending on what channel (location) we want to watch. I marked the positions on my rotater ring to make it easier for me.

I have been watching the post with great interest. I have an 2003 Kiwi Too and have not been able to pick up any TV channels even in my drive way and I am less that 30 miles from the Station transmitters. I bought a wingmam and a new antenna. I have not had a chance to test them yet. I have a EDTV that is HD ready soooo I am wanting very bad to give it a try.

Well I brought the TT to the house to get it ready for a week end trip with our grandson. I replaced the antenna and add the wing man now I get evey Spanish speaking station and HSN channel in our area, on the TV but nothing I can watch. I guess you can say it works? I will give it a real test this week end.
