Using Levels

how many of you guys use a level on the sides and front/back when setting up your trailer

mine is fiberglass so a magnetic one wont work...but i hate the fact of attaching ones to mine by screwing it in to the camper...

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I have 2 stick on levels on both my campers.
They're a couple $$ each, cheap.
Front to back and side to side.
I locate them on the corner so I can see them easily while cranking trailer.

I have the small ones mounted on the front corner of my 5er but also use a 2' level placed inside on the linoleum floor and check it front to back and left to right. I have read that its important to get it level for proper refrigerator operation (as well as comfort).

Yes it's important to have your RV level so that the refrigerator works properly. Here's what I did when we first got our trailer. I leveled the trailer in our driveway using one of these levels in the freezer compartment on the frig:
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...ye-level/47658

Then knowing my trailer was level I bought these levels to stick in the trailer. One in front to measure side to side and the other on the side of the trailer to measure front to back. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...set-of-2/47550

Now I just take a quick look and presto I'm done.
Happy trails,

I do not like the stick on levels. I am always concerned that over time they will be bumped or sag, due to heat, gravity, or someone playing with them. I installed a nice round 2-axis bubble level on the tongue of the HTT right in front of the tongue jack. This way I can see both axis instantaneously, as I unhook.

To install it;
After leveling the HTT (extremely accurately), I used a dollop silicone adhesive to secure the round bubble level and adjusted it until it was level.

I like the EZ Level by RV Innovations. You just set it on the floor of the RV, press start, and the low areas light up red. When all is level, all lights turn green. Available from Camping World, Amazon, and sometimes Ebay.

No stick-on's....., for campsite leveling I use a carpenter's level that I place on the floor just inside the entry door.

I do the same thing. I have a 4ft level and when I'm setting up, usually I'll place it on a horizontal piece of external trim or something to give me a ballpark level. Then I open the door and place it on the floor and finish the deal, leveling front to back, side to side, quick and simple. Make sure you lay the level on linoleum, not carpet. Terry

You can also get a bubble level on your I-Phone or Android phone. There are several available so if you are interested, do an app search for level-up or bubble level.

Ditto on the stick on levels. Our shake down trip was to a KOA, had a paved, reasonably level site. Brought a 4' level with me, leveled the trailer and applied the stick on levels on the front corner. I know it's reasonably level because the fridge doors don't swing open/shut, and the bathroom door stays open. Glad I bought the inexpensive ones, as the sun has already "bleached" the color out of the fluid in both of them. :lightning:

A 4' level used on the floor inside seems to be the best way to make sure you are level.

I have a bubble level mounted on the 5th wheel hitch for side to side when I back in the site. Then I have a stick on level for front to back. I purchased Intelljacks for the landing gear for the hook and unhook and level works good for me. I had Intelljacks on other unit and liked it. Hope this helps.

At first I brought along a 2’ (??) level that was just long enough to fit in the door opening. If you have in imperfections in the floor, aka a bubble under the linoleum, dirt, soft spot, etc, that can be magnified with a shorter level. Now that I have the bubble on the tongue, and it has proven to work, I have no reason to bring the bigger level, I do carry a small torpedo level (just in case).

I have a question for you guys.....

I notice a lot of the power jacks have a bubble level on them. Are these reliable as far as leveling your TT is concerned?

I had my eyes calibrated a while back so don't need a level anymore . Seriously though I just use this stick on ones. The peel and stick tape does give out after a while though and they'll shift. I took the old tape off and reapplied them with some clear silicone and some painters tape until the silicone dried. Not gonna move now.
