I do not know what this "insurance policy" covers. My DW has purchased some type of travel insurance a couple times, when we have done huge trips that have costed insane amount of $$$$. We have never used it, but the price has been cheap, and we have known there might be issues with that trip.
Travel insurance for the RV, forget it. My regular insurance policies will cover anything I need it to. Not sure exactly what would happen if I totaled the TT way far from home. Last thing I am going to worry about is a few hundred dollars in lost reservations at that point.

As a software engineer I loved those, I even managed to get them to hang up on me. It went something like this.
Scammer: Sir your computer is send us a code.
Me: No it is not.
Scammer: I ensure you it is
Me: No it is not
Scammer: Yes it is sending us a code
Me: It is a Mac
Scammer: Hangs up

Just something interesting. We are staying at our local KOA this week and there is a statement regarding insurance on the last page of the campground guide. I can't honestly say that I would have even paid attention to it if it weren't for the conversation in this thread.

What Camping World is selling is a liability policy, which you most likely already have in place, if you have insurance on your camper. When you buy insurance on your camper, it will often be a package that includes Liability coverage. That coverage is there to protect you, if one of your guests is injured due to your negligence while at your campsite, and they sue you. It will also cover your liability if (for example) your camper suddenly rolls downhill into someone else causing bodily injury or property damage. I've never really read the fine print on the paperwork given to me at campgrounds, so there could be an insurance clause in there. The point of this may be to provide an insurance buffer for the campground, in the event they are sued due to your negligence. Your insurance would respond first and they may require that you have this coverage. I can't see a point to them requiring "trip insurance", like the kind you buy to cover an expensive vacation to recoup flight and reservation costs.

When we were shopping for insurance for our Bungalow, one of the insurers wanted to include liability. I asked why I would need it if the TT was parked permanently at our seasonal site. She told me it was in case someone was on our site, like a campground maintenance worker, and got hurt as a result of our TT. She offered as an example the maintenance worker having to clear debris from under our TT and then getting injured while under the TT. I thought she was joking, but she was serious.

We got some feedback on this... The Liability coverage for our Motorhome is intended to cover the insured while operating the motorized vehicle. They said that new policies state that it does not cover general liability if it is not being driven, or parked for a period of time.
She did confirm that our Umbrella liability policy does cover us - as long as the motorhome is listed under the umbrella coverage (ours is).

Thanks to all who replied to my question a year ago. Sorry that I did not respond back then - we have been out of commission since then.
A couple of thoughts on some of the replies:
It was not Camping World that tried to sell us the insurance. Farmers, Progressive, and Geico (and probably others) sell it.
Some replied that your homeowners’ policy would cover you when you are RVing. That may be true, but if you are full-time RVing and don’t own a home, you may need this insurance.

Just because someone states that they “are not liable for xxx” does not make it so. It does not absolve them of anything what so ever. Their declaration does not supersede any legislation. If that’s the case, then, “I, Phyerphyter, am not responsible for any damages or injuries I may cause will driving impaired.”
here’s the fine print - I am not advocating, supporting or suggesting anyone drive impaired. The above statement is made for demonstration purposes only
