Fairenatic,

Thanks for sharing your experience and sorry it didn't go better.
But it sounds like you did an excellent job on your own PDI. Many can learn from your experience and perseverance. I complement you on that. We are our best (and sometimes only) advocate.

How's the weather there in IN? Did you get any snow or freezing rain from the storm that just passed through?

Enjoy the Jayco facotry tour. Let me know how you liked it, we're thinking of doing in this summer.

Have a safe trip home and hope you get everything addressed to your satisfaction either there in IN or in Houston.

Good luck.

I love that detailed report. Wish you could have posted pictures too.
Take some pictures of the factory tour if you can.
Hope your first camp out goes well.

I am glad my report can serve some purpose.

I felt so rushed and was so busy climbing up, over, and through the trailer, I did not feel I had time to take pictures.

But, once I take delivery, I will take all kinds of photos over ALL the problems, the tow vehicle, hitch, and trailer.

It was perfect weather until the day of the PDI. It started to snow and sleet late the night before. It was about 3 inches by morning. It stayed around 23 degrees F most of the day but I was glad the PDI was inside.

It got worse yesterday and was down right nasty late last night. I went out to get a massage and that was a stupid thing to do. Some truly rural back roads that are unlit with horse and carriage at the bottom of every hill. Even bike riders. Could not even see the road lines so knowing where the curbs were and what lane one should be in was an enlightening experience for someone who has lived most of his life in Houston where it is currently 70 degrees F. It was crazy. I should have turned around but I was feeling so knotted up after a less than stirling PDI and 1200 miles.

It looked bleak this morning but the sun has come out and it has turned into a beautiful day. Still some snow on the ground and there may be ice problems now since it is still 19 degrees F but the wind has died to nothing.

So, I am currently in limbo. Not sure what to tell the hotel manager but he was very gratious when I asked if there were late check out fees. He said he would work with me and said I was welcome to stay until I found out when the trailer will be ready. The people here have been so pleasant. Omish country is beautiful.

Anyway, thank you for all the concern and support. I will be cautious and I am hoping that once I get further south, driving safety will be less of a concern.

You guys rock.
