Walmart Camping

Seems like awhile back someone posted a website that showed which Walmart stores allowed camping. I was trying to plan a trip and was wondering. Thanks

If you have a garmin you can download a Walmart poi from poi-factory dot com which the author says "All Walmarts and Sam's Clubs in the USA and Canada. Gas/Diesel and No Over Night Parking (NOP) indicated if known by me or submitted as an update." Probably not 100%, but a source of information. If you run across a "NOP" which is not indicated as such, let the author know and I'm sure he will include it in his next update.

What about pilot and TA centers? Do they charge? Never used one. I looked up the Walmart I was planning on using and says no overnight. I assumed all walmart stores allowed camping but very few.

No they don't charge.. Walmart only has no camping signs up where there is a town ordinance against it...

It is best to call the Walmart in question when planning to stay. If the one I want says no then usually the Walmart in the next town will.

I figure out how far I am driving the next day and start calling.

There's a pretty good app called RV Parky that has this type of info too.

There are 2 Walmart stores in Bloomington Illinois where I was wanting to stay. I called both, the first stores reply was the manager no longer allows it. The other 8 miles away does allow it so I'm good to go.

I usually try to stay at the Super Walmarts, ones open 24/7, for security reasons.
