You might try replacing the bulbs with warm white instead of the more common bright white bulbs. There is a downside to that idea, those bulbs will probably last longer than you own the coach and they aren’t cheap. I was able to justify replacing the halogens that came with my coach because I needed to reserve power for boondocking and LED’s use far less power that any other source. (With the possible exception of candles.)

I don’t use the overhead lights at all. I bought two small lamps at HD and put 40 watt (equivalent) LED bulbs in them. They give a nice, soft light. I’m always hooked up to shore power and never boondock.

I purchased the same or similar material through Adorama Camera simply because when I checked the Amazon link in Screwby's post, the source was no longer offering Prime free shipping. Anyway, the process of cutting the material was easy but just a little tedious to get the right diameter to fit inside the lens cover of the ceiling fixture. I had to deal with the push button on/off switch in the center of the fixture. Here are a couple of photos of the results of this little project. Total cost =- $10.70. I got enough material to do a dozen lights even though I only treated 5. Good luck!

Nice! Looks like mine did when I was done. Such a different feel when you walk into your camper and it’s got a warm tone instead of cold harsh light. Yeah it’s tedious work for sure but oh so worth it!
I had some left over too and ended up doubling the gels in the bedroom so it was even softer light..wink wink...

Wonder if you can buy the factory type dimmer switch, the one you press and hold, and just replace the switch?

Thank you!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out how to dim those lights for almost a year. Amazon is now showing precut circles from AirstreamIT that are 1.75”. I will be measuring our lights tomorrow.

You can get this LED dimmer on Amazon. It looks exactly like the dimmers that came in my camper. See my signature to see what camper I Have. Mine work great.

I think brightness has a little to do with it but with a dimmer you still end up with cold blue LED light. Nothing soothing about the color temperature of a bright white/blue led light. There’s a reason the color correct warmer LEDs are becoming more and more available in stores to replace residential lighting. I don’t want the feel of a hospital operating room when I flip on my light switches.
Maybe I’m just weird but I feel the same way about this huge trend in bright blue and red LED lighting everywhere inside campers to. Makes me feel like I’m in a Vegas casino when I walk into them. Chrome and mirrors and iridescent lighting just don’t do it for me.

How are you installing the gel filter paper? Are you placing it directly over the LED lights (so it's in direct contact)?
If someone who's used the gel filter - could post pictures showing the paper installed - that would be wonderful!
Thanks!

I just set the gel material in the concave shaped light cover. There seems to be enough clearance between the cover and the light so that the material does not come in contact with the LED.

The gels are made for high heat anyways, it’s used in photography and studio lighting and strobes. My gels are 3 years old and going strong.
