Water Filter

So i have used the search function and came up empty, so here goes. last summer we noticed the dreaded water staining in the shower, toilet, etc. I was using two filters one at the spigot and one closer to the trailer, but I dont think it was enough. It was also noticable that even boiling water it was turning orange. What is the best or is there even a filter that will help eliminate this?

Sorry if this has been covered before, if it has please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Do you camp at one particular spot ? I just have one filter and never encountered this problem but then I'm only on the west coast.

Thats what hard water does, no simple fix you would need a water softener. Those inline filters charcoal help with taste/smell and paper filter takes care of sediment.

It also sounds like there is a lot of iron in the water. I do belive there is filter media's that will help remove iron/sulfur.

Hi, this statement is correct and may work under some conditions but I caution you not to just chase this problem with a water softener or your average filters.
Hard water comes in many forms and leaves different deposits (iron being just one, and a tough one to fix at that).
Some good reading on iron can be found here and with other searches.

Iron and its stains can be a bit more complex than just a regular filter or softener can take care of and you could spend good money chasing down a cure without doing some research first.
JMHO..Cheers

Thanks for all the info fellas. I am on a permanent site, and 2016 I didnt experience any issues, but 2017 was when it started, and yes it was very metallic smelling. I guess i will see what this year brings when we open up.

Thanks again.

The metallic smell might be a little alarming? Might be time for a water test to be done. Your health is everything. If you havent tried it yet for the staining some vinegar should clean it right up. Nature's miracle water...............just hate the smell of it
God Bless!
