Water Filter Canister

Ok. So I removed the water filter cartridge when I winterized. Now what do I do with it? Do I let it dry out the set it in the MH crawl space? Is it ok for it to dry out? Should I keep it damp and store it in my shop? Throw it away and buy a new one next spring? Thank in advance for any suggestions that don't involve a body cavity!!

I just ordered new ones for winterizing. Figure they'll be there waiting to go come spring and there will be no doubt how well they held up over the winter.

If you're set on keeping it I wouldn't try to keep it wet all winter. If anything I'll pull it out and let it dry.

Don't know which filter you have, but am assuming you are referring to the in-line filter that is in the line to the kitchen sink. My filter specifically says it is good for one camping season. The fact that it filters out all that stuff you don't want in your water means all that stuff is still inside the filter. Therefore, I always discard the old filter at the end of the season, and buy a new one for next year. If there is any bacteria in there, it will likely grow with moisture, and why would you want that dirty filter to start you off next spring ? JMHO

I agree after using them for the year I would throw them out and get a new one. I figure for the cost of them if I can get a years use out of them I am happy.

Water Filter Canister

Thanks for the replies. It's only about 2-1/2 months old but I think I'll go with pitching it and getting a fresh one to start the new season right.
