Water leak

Hello all! Any help would be wonderful. I have a 2021 Jayco Eagle 330RSTS. I have water leaking out of the winterization port with the valves turned to city water. When the green valve is turned to dry camp the leak stops! I changed the winterization diversion valve and the leak is still occurring! This started last week! Can anyone help?

I'm not understanding what you are calling the winterization valve and winterization port. I assume you have the Nautilus water control panel with either 4 or 5 handles that you change to various positions depending on what means you are getting water to the system.

Hi Radar,
It’s a Nautilus P2.5 with 3 diversion valves. A red for hot water, green and blue for city water, dry camp and tank fill. When the valves are placed in city water mode the water runs out of the winterization hose connection! I think it is bypassing the water pump check valve to come out of the port

Welcome to Jayco Owner's Forum from New Hampshire. Are you saying water is coming out at the Nautilus station? I see you have a 2021 model, have you been using your camper previously and this just started, or is this the first time you've used it? Have you confirmed you have the valves set appropriately? Do you have a water hose connected? Do you have the water pump on? Please include as much info as you can so we can better understand.

There are many experienced people here who can help.

Note: Next time you probably should start a new post so it's easier to find.

We bought this RV used. But it was only used once. We have it permanently on our land with pole barn over it. We have been using the RV for approximately 2 months no issues. This just started. The valves are all set appropriately, water hose connected, No water pump is not on we are hooked to city water.

Have you checked the amount in your fresh water tank? It should be empty if you're connected via water hose. If you have the values wrong it could be overflowing the fresh water? Have you emptied your holding tanks?

Yes all of that has been checked. When we turn the water on instantly starts to leak.

That's true? So you have no problems until you turn on the water pump? Did you know you don't use the water pump when you have water pressure already because you're connected to water?
I remember a story... I think from Red Shelton (I'm showing my age).. 'guy goes to the doctor says; "My arm hurts when I raise it!" and doctor says; "Don't raise your arm"'... water comes out when you turn on the water pump, don't turn on the water pump

haha... I don't intend to belittle you or the problem. It sounds like just a misunderstanding about when to use the water pump. Please clarify

We turn the city water off. Because it is leaking. When we need water we turn it back on. So not the pump on RV.

okay... now I get it better. You put fresh water into your fresh water tank, then you adjust the values to tell your camper you are dry camping, then you turn on the water pump... so you should have a fair amount of water into your fresh water tank, right?

Smart, many do this even when fresh water is available because the water pressure from your water pump is sometimes better than the campsite... okay.

Here is how to do it:
1. Connect the fresh water hose to the City water connection inlet
2. Set the color coded values to POWER FILL TANK setting:
> Green handle pointing left
> Blue handle pointing down
> Water heater bypass level - NORMAL
3. Connect the other end of the hose to a perssurized fresh water source
4. Turn the water source ON, the tank should begin filling
5. When water has reached the desired level, turn the water source off DO NOT OVERFILL
6. Disconnect water source from spigot first, then disconnect from the city water fill inlet
===============
Dry camping (pump supplies water from the fresh water tank)
1. Make sure the fresh water tank has an adequate supply of water
2. Set the color coded values to the DRY CAMPING setting:
> Green handle pointing down
> Blue handle pointing right
> Water heater bypass lever - NORMAL
3. Turn the pump switch ON
4. Water should be available to all fixtures. Pump runs whenever a fixture is opened.
5. Turn pump OFF when water is not being used

I do appreciate your help. We have this RV permanently stationary. We do not take it anywhere. We have a water hose from the city water valve to the city water. We do not fill fresh water tank. file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/62/02/F2DFDD20-742B-45E0-888C-5AFC2963B9EC/Resized_20210925_193054.jpg

If you only want to use City Water, you NEVER turn on the water pump.
1. Connect the fresh water hose to the city water inlet
2. Set the color coded values to CITY WATER setting:
> Green handle pointing left
> Blue handle pointing right
> Water heater bypass level - NORMAL
3. Connect other end of the hose to pressurized fresh water source
4. Turn ON the pressurized water source
5. Water should now be available to all fixtures in the RV

If I still haven't properly answered your questions, I am truly sorry. My advice is that you post your question as a new post on a main page for your camper type: Travel Trailers... here is a direct link to start the new post: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/n...=newthread&f=7

It's late in my timezone, and we go to bed early. I'll check back in the morning to see what happened and what was the solution. You will get more responses when you begin the post anew.

I have the same camper as you, only mine is the 5th wheel version... otherwise it's identical. I can't imagine why water is coming out of those spots unless it's the values set incorrectly. If I was wrong then it's beyond my experience.

I see your values, and they look fine. When you have the water connected, you don't need the water pump. I can't see any reason why you would turn on the water pump. Just leave it off.

If water comes out even with the pump off, until you have this resolved, try filling your fresh water tank and then using the water pump until this is resolved... no rush while troubleshooting this either.. many people prefer using water pump instead of pressurized water hose.

I can't imagine why this happens and look forward to learning the reason as others give you better help.

I am having the same problem with my 2021 Eagle 330RSTS! The trouble is that the check valve is not closing on the water pump. I. Am taking the camper to service because the attempts to close the check valve did not work. You need to have water in fresh water tank! Turn the valves to dry camp and bump the water pump several times to get the check valve to close. Turn on the water in the kitchen sink until the water pump kicks on for 20 seconds! Do that several times and see if it fixes the problem. If it does not buy a plug for the winterization port so it does not leak anymore and go back to using the city water!

Thank you! As previously stated we don’t have pump on. So yes the water is coming out regardless. I do appreciate your advice. We are looking for mobile rv tech.
Peter
Thank you. I will have my husband try this in the morning. Just very frustrating!!!
