As Grumpy says: if the problem exists only at the shower, the problem is the shower valve or possibly an issue in the hot water line to the shower valve (though that is unlikely.)
You should be able to remove the valve body without removing the entire fixture from the wall. It's common for construction debris to clog valves.
Many of us have replaced the shower valve and lavatory faucets because the factory products are so crappy. If you have to take the entire thing off, it might be just as well to replace it while you have it off. (etrailer.co now has a line of replacement RV fixtures.
