Found this via a net search:

"Generally speaking, the max water pressure in an RV is 50 PSI for older rigs and 60 PSI for the newer trailers and motorhomes out there. Stick to these limits and you should avoid any damage caused by high water pressure."

I use a 55-60 regulator on my 2017 Greyhawk and previously had a 50 on my old Lance camper. Apparently the plumbing in newer rigs is better and can take the added pressure.

My on board Shurflo pump delivers 55psi and so does my pressure regulator while on city water. I have pex plumbing in my camper.

I set my water pressure regulator to 30 #, there's no reason I need super high water pressure.

I sent this question to Jayco being very specific to my trailer.

I was SHOCKED at Jayco's answer since I always ran 45 - 50 psi.

Here is my question:

I have a 2016 28BHBE with the thermal package.
I am wondering what is the maximum water pressure the water/plumbing system has been tested for. Wondering what psi water pressure regulator I should get for this trailer?
I want to be safe and not over pressure the system.
Thank you.

Jayco's answer:

Good afternoon and Thank You for reaching out to Jayco customer service. We only recommend putting 25 psi through your pipes. To make sure that you don’t burst a water line or break a seal in the lines.

Thank you,

Thank you for the reply but now I am realty confused.
On page 8-3 of the 2016 Jay Flight owners manual, it states the water pump will pressurize the line to 45 psi. On page 8-4, It states that a water pressure regulator should be set for 45 psi to prevent damage when using a city water connection?

Wondering why you would say 25 psi?

Good question since I think the standard test for RV lines is 100 psi.

I have an adjustable that I keep at 60.

Jayco's reply speaks volumes for their lack of confidence in their "QC" program.

JFYI, this was a common question on the Heartland site and Heartland said their test standard is 100 psi and that they recommend staying below 65.

I agree, if Jayco is saying 25, what do they test to to begin with?

Below is Jayco's answer. Very disappointing answer. Sounds like they don't really know.

Good Morning and Thank You for reaching out to Jayco Customer Service. We recommend that any hook ups from outside source be set at 25 psi but you can do 45 psi.

Thank You,

We bypass the possibility of city water with too much pressure, and/or a faulty pressure regulator by never hooking up to the city connection.

We fill the freshwater tank, and run the onboard water pump. The small annoyance of the noise from the pump is offset by peace of mind. When we leave the trailer for the day, we turn off the pump. Jayco plumbing quality doesn't inspire confidence, so we play it safe.
