Weather sealing window gap?

Hello all. I noticed the window above my kitchen think there is a gap on the top and the bottom that I can see light coming in. I was wondering how flies kept getting inside when I hadn't even opened the door yet for the day. Any ideas on how I can seal these up tighter?

Don't have that problem but a tiny bit of black Gorrilla tape or Black eatearnabond would cover it up? I found tons of Chinese ladybugs in mine one year and traced it down to no screen on the AC roof vent.

The thing is I open that window all the time so I don't think there is a way to tape it effectively..?

Are we sure that gap in the window mount, leads to the exterior? From the pics, it looks like the gap is an incorrect cut on the window slide facing, on the inside of the window slide. I could be wrong, just going by the pics.

Maybe shoot some water or compressed air from outside in that area to see if there is indeed a gap in the window from outside to inside.
