What are the current prices of propane?

How much propane does your rig use? Most of your furnaces are rated at 40,000 btu input, and a 31,000 output. A little math and a little propane background will help. A gallon of propane will supply 91,500 btu. Run the furnace a little over two hours and 15 minutes, and a full gallon of LP is burnt. 20# LP tank = 4.7 Gallons, 30# LP tank = 7.1 gallons

What are the current prices of propane? I filled up last fall at a cost of $2.86 per gallon or $20 for 30LP tank I filled the tank in Crivitz, Wi.

I just finished camping for a week and we used the furnace the entire time. Temp's went to mid 30's at night. I had to fill one of the bottles about mid-week and it cost $28.00. We were comfortable with the inside temp set at 72 degrees.

2.90 here in TN. I was out a week ....used gas off and on, oven, furnace (in 40s at night), stove and I think I used about 1/2 of a 30 lb bottle. I have been impressed how little overall gas I use. I have decided it is much better to be comfortable to be on propane for heat than trying to mess with a space heater. I also do gas hot water when multiple people need a shower.

Probably spent $5 to $10 more on propane than just using electric, but IMHO it is worth it for the convenience.

As of yesterday the wholesale price on the commodities market for propane was $1.36 per gallon and were paying over double that price WHY? So again I ask the question what are you paying for propane last time you filled up and where did you fill at?

Last I got was about 3.25 a gallon. But that was October. Cheapskate Crabman still uses an electric space heater to supplement propane. I just set the thermostat on the furnace, turn on the electric, and if the temp drops below the comfort zone, the furnace will come on anyway. Plus you don`t hear the furnace cycling on and off. But you would be surprised how well those little 1500 watt heaters will heat even on a 25* to 35* night.

Well the propane people have joined forces with the gas people. The price went up the other day.
