I was lucky enough to be hosting at a state park campground in northern Michigan during the last one and got a good view of it through a welding mask.
This year, I'm wintering in Kerrville, TX (Hill Country - northwest of San Antonio), and we're right in the center of the path. People here have been talking about the eclipse for a year. Motels and campgrounds are charging $1000 a night for the weekend thru Monday. Bought a pair of "Eclips Glasses" at Wally's a couple of weeks ago, so I'll be watching in the field behind the campground where I stay. But like a few others have said, it's supposed to be overcast all day with a chance of storms in the afternoon. There's really nothing we can do but see what we can see.
Remember, don't look directly at the sun without
certified viewing glasses.
