It is supposed to be cloudy here in Texas. I had thought about setting up my telescope and camera but I likely will not do so after all. ~CA

Lol the eclipse is a bucket list item. Watching the Cubs win the world series in 2016 was huge for me. Now if Purdue can just win the NCAA.....................

Our land is only 22 miles from the center of the path so we plan on hanging out there.

Now to see if weather cooperates!

I was lucky enough to be hosting at a state park campground in northern Michigan during the last one and got a good view of it through a welding mask.

This year, I'm wintering in Kerrville, TX (Hill Country - northwest of San Antonio), and we're right in the center of the path. People here have been talking about the eclipse for a year. Motels and campgrounds are charging $1000 a night for the weekend thru Monday. Bought a pair of "Eclips Glasses" at Wally's a couple of weeks ago, so I'll be watching in the field behind the campground where I stay. But like a few others have said, it's supposed to be overcast all day with a chance of storms in the afternoon. There's really nothing we can do but see what we can see.

Remember, don't look directly at the sun without certified viewing glasses.

Gonna go to work and laugh at everyone taking a day off spending hundreds, if not thousands, to go stand in a parking lot wearing stupid glasses while staring at the sky. I would rather go watch a bear **** in the woods quite honestly. To each their own.....

Was driving 1200 miles round trip to TX for 4 minutes of fun.

No trip... staying home now.

We were only driving 260 miles to southern Missouri but no trip for us either. The truck had a transmission sudder leaving town so we turned around. Heck we're retired seemed like a good reason to enjoy a drive and a campfire.

Our Son in law's Dad is a mechanic, heading to the shop today. Hopefully just a fluid problem and not the torque converter, next trip planned is in two weeks.
