What are your eclipse plans?

I live and work in Nashville Indiana. Nashville is a small tourist trap town of 1500 people in the south central part of the state. We are on the exact path of totality. Town board expecting 100,000 people to be here. Yikes!! Latest weather forecasts suggest Indiana will be one of the prime places to view the eclipse due to lack of cloud cover. It's gonna be a real sh*t show here.

We are expecting more than a million showing up in our town of 100,000. Already declared a state of emergency. I’ll be home avoiding the crowds.

Got the special shades and a six-pack of Irish Stout. Going to stay off the roads and watch it from the deck....if it's not cloudy.

We and some friends are leaving this morning for Richmond, Indiana, to view the eclipse. Staying at the KOA there. The KOA is furnishing glasses and eclipse themed shirts.

We were lucky enough to be in the direct path during the 2017 eclipse (east of Kansas City). We're leaving tomorrow for a trip to the Missouri boot heel to view the eclipse. We have a site in Eminence, Mo. at Circle B campground but the earliest available was Sunday so we're going to break up the drive and stay in Hermann, Mo. Friday & Saturday.

Where are you going to put everybody??? It was bad enough being there on holiday weekends.

Loved the Nashville Inn and when St Agnes used the outdoor amphitheater. Westward Ho was our "go to" for many trips.

I am in the Dallas area. They are saying millions will be here. Many cities have declared a state of emergency. All police/fire have to be on, no PTO. Store are over stocking, gas stations are topping off tanks Fri/Sat. They are advising not to leave your home. All for 4 min of darkness. Its also supposed to be cloudy here

Lol, who knows Grumpy. On a normal weekend in October at peak leaf time we'll get maybe 20,000 people. New estimates are suggesting up to 250K now. If any one of these scenarios plays out we'll be in total gridlock for miles and miles and no one will move for hours on end.

Howdy neighbor, I'm just up the road in Columbus. We have family coming to visit, my uncle asked what our big plans were, I said "go out the back door, look up, walk back inside"

It really is like the Seinfeld show, a show about nothing. The earth goes into the shadow, the earth comes out of the shadow. I have seen several and it really is a show about nothing. Now Aurora, that is something more.

Same here.

In 2017, I got together with my college roommate for the first time in almost 30 years and we camped in a pasture in Atchison County, KS. It was overcast most of the day, but it still got dark and the clouds parted long enough to get a quick view. It was great but not great enough to travel several hours to see another one.
