What Classification of Camper Is This?

... noticed this configuration earlier this summer.

I’m a “mind your own business” person, so I didn’t stop to ask or comment. We had an excellent camping experience on this outing, and I hope the owners of this rig did too.

I wouldn’t travel near it on the highway; certainly not behind it.

I think that is a "IwannabeaJaycoEaglewhenIgrowup" type of RV.

That would be a slide in. Truly designed to be in the back of a pick up bed.

Ooh..tough call on that one...I know Jayco was doing some trial runs with some of their truck camper/5th wheel/utility trailer combos but I don't believe that they made it much past the concept stage. Handy, I suppose, if a person had to pick up a quad or load of gravel to take back to the campsite once you had ditched the camper that was strapped on with bungee cables!

It is a 5er. Small but a TT. It has an axle so you can't slide it into the bed of a truck. It use to be slide in camper.

It doesn't have an axle. The camper is actually sitting on an ordinary flat cargo trailer.

right so it is now a TT. To tow it you would hitch it to the back of a vehicle.

Meant to say it isn't a 5er.

That's an excellent answer to the question!

Up to that point the adventure was going along just fine. I hope home wasn't far away, and that they made it safely.

That looks like something Red Green would come up with. You probably tow it with this:

I'd be curious as to how well it tows. Looks like most of the weight could be aft of the axle.
