Got this for Christmas from my daughter.
Does it qualify as a gadget?

I backed the truck up and connected the power and it worked great. Full signal bar. I'm anxious to see how it does at speed on the highway.

Not the best picture, pretty gloomy day here in "sunny" south Florida.

This is a fantastic idea for those TT that aren't pre-wired!! (Heck, even for those that are prewired, saves having to drill another hole in the unit). Great job!. Keep us updated on how it works for you on the road. I have been very pleased with mine.

Do you just turn the monitor off at night when the running lights are on?

I haven't used it yet but I would be keeping the camera on at all times while towing to be used as a rear view mirror. But yes if I don't want it on at night I just shut the monitor off. Camera stays on but does no harm.

I have 2 of these! We camp with friends who also have one. I make dough at home and freeze the dough balls. In the morning we are going to cook pizza, I take them out to defrost. Usually bring extra dough because all the neighbors smell pizza cooking an can't resist coming over

Here is a little better pic of the camera install. I'm going to wire the moniter in my truck today. Going to make the monitor removable but the wiring permanent. I hate seeing wires.

Very innovative! Do you have details on how you mounted it to the running light?
