I thought it was a left handed smoke shifter or a tool to remove valve cover return springs!
That was the 2 items I was told to ask the parts department when I started working in the automotive field back in the 80’s! I never forgot it! Lol!

It's miniature flux capacitor. You can get the full-size unit here.

Those were the good old days being a partsman. You could get a muffler bearing separately.

It could be a thermal demodulation valve or electric rheostat

Looks like the battery to a Vape Cigarette (E--Cig). The battery screws on to the compartment which has the vape fluid and pipe.

Thanks for posting this Norty1. The presenter using his laymen's terminology made the component's technical application process easy to understand.

Yeah, we kept the muffler bearings right at the back of aisle 12 near the blinker fluid. I think you could also get a radiator cap for a VW Beetle over in that department as well...
My favorite was the empty battery casing we kept around for display purposes. It had no lead plates in it, it was just the casing. Had real terminal posts and everything. Looked no different than every other battery on the shelf. We'd strain and strain and carry it over to the new guy when he wasn't paying attention and grunt, "OMG, can you hold this for me!" while dropping it in their arms. The look on their faces was absolutely priceless!
When it was done to me, I simply stepped back and let the guy drop it. I learned long ago it's better to let heavy things hit the floor than let them hit me. If it's heavy and I'm not ready to take it, and you try to hand it to me, I will straight up back away and let you drop it ... every time.
