What Is This Little Bag Of Granules I Found In My Engine Compartment?

This little bag of whatever was just hanging there and I have no idea what it is.
Anyone?

Looks like Fresh Cab which is to deter mice. Does it smell like peppermint?

Thanks!
I think it’s been there a while so no aroma of anything.

Take out a few granules and crush them with a hammer and sniff. Bet you get a pine odor or mint odor.

If not, could it be rat or mouse poison pellets?
Nothing else I could think of.

Thank you for the answers. It's definitely "Cab Fresh" which in fact would not work too long out in the open like an engine compartment. Cab fresh says "enclosed area 125 sq. feet... Replace every 30 days."

We do have a rodent in the engine compartment issue out here in our rural area, and just keep a poison box close to where our vehicles are parked. (no garages) We use freeze dried mongoose feces and it works pretty well for the trucks that sit idle for days at a time. I think my foreman said it lasts a couple of months. I'm going to try it on the Jayco

My yard foreman just corrected me... It's FERRET poop, freeze dried.

I doubt it will work either.

The best is to keep rat bait box serviced, and just kill the bstrds be they rats or mice
