I liked the floor plan. It was big enough for my wife and I, yet small enough to tow around the country, and especially in older national parks. For us two, a plus was no slide.

The floor plan and the 2year warranty but more important to me was the very low pressure sales guy at the dealership i went to. One thing I dont understand are all the negative comments on RV quality. Did no-one due their their homework before purchasing to find out that all Rvs that don't cost a half a million dollars and are junk?
I get being upset that stuff breaks and needs to be fixed regularly. I also get that the mfgs fight every warranty claim. Its frustrating but its part of the game that most should have known before hand. Just my .02

#1 Bang for the buck (looked at new and used and we liked Jaycos best)
#2 Warranty
#3 Floorplan (had to order one to get the options we REALLY wanted)

ALL the sales folks we encountered at AZ dealers were terrible - half truths, lies, and/or clueless. We bought online and drove 3,600mi round trip to pick it up and bring it home.

We started out looking at Forest River, Coleman, etc but my next door neighbor who owns a nearby KOA said he’d recommend a Jayco based on what they see and hear from guests. And they own a Forest River. That, plus the 2-year warranty, and the rear-living floorplan, sealed it. Don’t regret it so far.

Floor plan, warranty, and (hopefully), quality. Added plus is a dealer within 30 miles. Our first, we'll see how it goes.

Floor plan - the large upfront bathroom holds the Litter Robot for the felines. Since then Grand Design has a front bathroom & DW really liked the set up.

Florrplan. The 29.5BHOK was the only model we liked within the length limit we imposed on our setup, from any mfg. Just so happened it was from Jayco.

Dealer is within 5 miles. The best price for a TT that had EVERYTHING we wanted. Mainly bunkbeds, outside kitchen and slide out. The floor plan actually made sense (TV across from the sofa and not to the far left of the sofa so you would have to sit at the dinette to see it)

Everywhere else we looked price was $2,000 higher or more then the jayco and they didn't seem as nice. The other more expensive brands had thin mattresses and lower weight limits on the bunks, smaller A/C units (got the 15,000BTU AC), no TV included and if they had an outside kitchen the sink was just basically a water faucet with a bowl underneath that needed dumped after every use. The jayco was the only one we saw that has a drain plumbed in.

There's two dealers very close to us. Equal distance. Maybe 15 mins away. One Jayco/Airstream, and the other Keystone and a couple others. So, distance was first. Second, of all those I liked the Jayco trailers best. Third, the two year warranty. I'm quite happy with our purchase overall.

I agree with the comments about those who "gripe" about their purchase. We've most recently been with Forest River, Keystone (who, by the way, now has a 3-year warranty) and now Jayco. Each time we had issues that needed to be addressed - it's the name of the game. We purchased our most recent because we wanted a motorhome, wanted the Mercedes, the price was good, and we LOVE!!! the floorplan (very similar to our Keystone Premier). We're almost 2 1/2 years in and not sorry at all. Jayco was great when it came to warranty work.

1st. Design/feel. Ya know how you walk in a house and your reaction is “oh my, this is nice”. Designers have done a great job w colors/materials etc...
2nd floor plan, while there are same or similar units from other manufacturers, it’s the #1(above) that sets it apart.
3rd Dealer, need a good Dealer in the area.
4th. Reputation, while there are some Jayco lemons out there(unfortunately), I think thru the years they have pretty much got assembly down to a science. Sometimes quality will be lacking when Joe from electrical is out sick today and Joan from upholstery gets thrown in his spot for the day. But that’s across the industry.
5th. 2yr bumper to bumper warranty. There is a reason why other manufacturers
Only offer 1 yr warranties.
We are living in extraordinarily great times when it comes to the RV industry. The entire industry has made Huge strides have been made in comfort, convieiance, design, layout, towability, attractiveness, ease of use.
Lots of good manufactures out there w a wide range of great choices. I’m enjoying it every trip!

Perception of quality, warranty, decor, layout

We purchased a 414BHDS new in 2016. I say perception of quality because in reality in our experience, many items such as the beds mattresses, base construction, and interior components and color schemes were and actually better. However many detailed items such as electronics, wiring, and general fit and finish were troublesome and did not meet expectation - and remain unresolved to today. Its great that we are not using those systems or have found work arounds for them. I'm glad it carried the 2 year warranty to address them. But understand the 'experience with issues' is similar to other brands. In the end the good outweighed the bad, and I would have been far more disappointed with many other brands.

Jayco will continue to be a brand I will continue to research when we begin the search for our next RV - but will not be a automatic go-to brand!

We considered a Keystone Montana & the Jayco North Point...........the decision was Keystone uses particle board flooring and Jayco uses tongue & groove plywood. We found a 2017 North Point on sale at a dealer in Salem, OR, about 375 miles from us. We live in Washington state and had been trying to deal with a Jayco dealer about an hour away from where we live. The 2017 North Point did not have all the things we wanted so I asked them if I could special order a 2018 North Point with all the options we wanted for the same price as the 2017 they had on sale. They agreed...........I contacted the local Jayco dealer and told them I would be willing to pay $1,000 more than the Salem dealer offered me. I didn't hear from them for two days. On the third day I went to my bank and wired the required special order deposit. When I got back to my office that morning, I had an email from the sales manager from the local dealer and he said that he would accept my offer of $1,000 plus.............I was never so pleased to say toooooo late, that I had already wired the deposit. Real idiots.............at least they get to do any warranty work I need, which is very minor. Super pleased with our North Point!

Great floor plan and nice interior for a relatively small TT that we could pull with our 1/2 ton truck. We are not disappointed, it has been a great trailer.
