What water hose do you use for city water connection?

Instead of transferring the old white hose from the former camper we are looking at getting a new water hose for the new Jayco. Are the blue "premium" hoses truly any better than the cheaper white hoses? Is Camco the best bet or are there other brands of better quality?

Mine is just a cheap white hose form a home improvement store. Been using it for well over 15 years. I use a Camco filter at the inlet to the water system. I always store the hose with the ends connected together.

I use a Valterra ebonyline. Going on 4 seasons and no leaks or bulges. It only comes in up to 25ft lengths and is rigid, but this is a great hose. Also I just upgraded to a Watt's pressure regulator and what a difference in water flow vs the cheapo ones. Fully adjustable and 2X the fow per minute.

Also I keep another white hose in case the post is too far to reach.

FYI - "RV" hoses should have an NSF sticker on them, showing they have passed national standards for being safe. Any other hose may be made out of materials that allow the chemicals it is made of to leach into the water, making it unsafe for long term exposure. Sure, an occasional drink out of a garden hose is not big deal, but if it is your main "plumbing", you probably want it to be a bit safer!

I just use white and carry a 10' and a 25' white for those times when one is not enough. Any will do as long it is certified for potable water. You see them in other colors than blue and white.

Some claim to be non-kink and lifetime, but hey, it's just a water hose laying on the ground.

I use the Camco white hose available at Walmart, but since the fittings are el-cheapos, I've replaced both ends with higher quality solid brass fittings. I had one hose that blew up like a sausage when I was staying at Crater of Diamonds, AR a few years ago. Water was still flowing, but there was a leak that separate the clear vinyl skin from the main hose body.

And no, I didn't find any diamonds in spite of all the digging around in the mud and dirt clods.

This is the one I use. It comes in 25 and 50 foot lengths (recommend the 50' cuz they don't actually stretch that far). It is drinking water safe and comes in colors. Don't mistake this for one of the cheap ones sold at CW. This is much higher quality. I have no problem putting it in one of those plastic Walmart containers in cold weather.

I have a few of the white hoses from both Meijer's and Menards, and one that only my grandfather knows where he bought it. It was in the Yellowstone when we got it from my Grandma.

I think I have 2-50', 2-25', and 1-10'. Maybe overkill, but at times we don't park "normal" if possible when with friends. Also, our trip next week we don't have a water hook up (could have but chose the best site of the group when it was offered to us- lake view!), but our friends do 2 sites over. We will run a hose to the trailer between us, then to ours as well.

And if the hose isn't long enough, you just need to pick up a hose stretcher!

white RV hose here. Carry one 25 foot and one fifty plus a 10 footer, just in case.

Thank you for all the responses. Will definitely be ordering the inline water filter along with hose and am still researching the Watts regulator. Interesting note on the regulator - website states lifetime warranty but if ordered on Amazon what appears to be same item only has one year warranty!
