What's the best refrigerator? Electric/solar or electric/gas?

I am assuming you mean a residential fridge VS a gas fridge.

Depends on how you use it. If you use RV campgrounds with power, and or are seasonal, maybe electric / residential would be a good choice.

Residential are generally more electrical power hungry than gas refrigerators.

Boondock or travel a lot, go for the Gas / electric. Then you have 2 power options.

If solar generates electricity is there a difference between solar/gas an electric/gas?

By "solar fridge", I assume you mean the 12 Volt compressor (AKA Danfoss/SECOP) compressor fridge, not the 12 Volt/LP gas adsorption fridge?
This refrigerator works the same as a residential refrigerator, but only requires 12 Volts. These are a nice option if you have a robust enough solar/battery setup.

As for the best fridge: it all depends on your camping style.

My brother, who is a van life kind of guy, showed me his Engel chest. It uses a ridiculously low amount of amps and sells for an astonishing amount of dollars. I like my Dometic electric/gas. I’m more of an RV kind of guy.

I don't have one, but I looked hard at the Engel units for my Sprinter at one point. They get amazing reviews.

We wanted an ARB or Engel chest fridge. We ended up buying an ICECO JP-40 12 Volt portable chest refrigerator/freezer. I believe they are manufactured by Indel Webasto. Very low Amp draw, and very reasonably priced.
It works well.
