I have seen others use a piece of string or rope to guide water down. It is especially useful if there is something at the bottom you don't want the water to hit. Doesn't work in heavy rains but for morning dew drips and AC run off it does cut the noise and mess.

So I tilted my awning down as far as I could, then moved the front bar up 2 "holes" to give it a grade toward the rear. Awning doesn't collect water at all.

Still have to roll it in when it's windy though... And I've learned not to leave it out at night anyway.
Thank you. We're heading out for an end of season trip and will tilt the awning.

My camper is static and up against a deck. Water would drip all over the deck from the gutter extensions. So I just got some clear plastic hose, and attached it to the extension with a hose clamp. The clear plastic hoses run all the way down below the deck and it all drips down there now.

Not the most elegant - but works for me.
