Geneva-on-the-Lake Ohio

Just returned from Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio. Stayed at the state park campground. I would like to thank the staff at the park office who called the day before our arrival to let us know the site we had reserved was under water due to recent rains. The found alternative sites for us to choose from. We have been camping since 1974 and this was a first. Thanks again to the staff.

Local Check Out Trip

We are in Lurray until Sunday doing a shakeout trip. So far everything has been good. My major project after dinner is to login out Jaycommand to the network and do updates. I tried already and the virtual keyboard didn’t work. I’ve never used an Android device before so I need to do some research on virtual keyboards.

Just drove through there on the way to Bryce Canyon. Would’ve loved to spend more time there. I never realized how many well-known movies were filmed there. And the Cave Museum sounded cool. Enjoy!

Have stayed at the Kanab RV Corral before - nice place in town and close to things. We'll be down there in a couple of weeks for our annual volunteering at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary just north of town. Love camping at the sanctuary and spending time in the area.

Kanab RV Corral has quite the following. For such a small town they have a group of restaurants that are out of this world!

Somewhere between Cincinnati and Jetty Park. Probably 1st night around Knoxville or something? Taking US highways as much as practical, maybe US25?

We left PA on Friday heading to Texas and stayed at 5 different campgrounds until our final destination.
  • Friday - Natural Bridge KOA, 214 Killdeer Lane, Natural Bridge VA Pull-through, 50/30 amp, Full Hookups. We were only here for an overnight stay but looked nice. I didn't even hook up water/sewer.
  • Saturday - Gatlinburg East / Smoky Mountain KOA Holiday, 4874 Hooper Highway, Cosby, TN 37722 Pull-through, 50/30 amp, Full Hookups. We stayed here 2 nights. Facilities were nice, good wooded ambiance. VERY rural. About 40 minutes from DollyWood. "The Woodshed" has some good food if you need something local
  • Monday - Meridian East/Toomsuba KOA, 3953 KOA Campground Rd, Toomsuba, MS Pull-through, 50/30 amp, Full Hookups. Nice showers.
  • Tuesday - Lufkin KOA, 250 FM 2021, Lufkin, TX Pull-through, 50/30 amp, Full Hookups - Let me just say I am quite irritated at this campground. We pulled in late where it was almost dark. We were at a pull-through site #22. Be wary of this particular site and low profile vehicles (like a 29mv greyhawk). All other sites looked fine.
  • Wednesday and on - Corpus Christi KOA, 101 Caribbean Dr., Corpus Christi, TX 78418 Back In, 50/30/20 Amps, Full Hookups, KOA Patio ® - I absolutely LOVE this campground so far and will be here for 2 weeks. Our site backs right up to the water and our bedroom has quite the view. Nice showers

I always found it curious that Meridian has a Navy Base. Even more curious, I'm sorry, but that anyone chooses to live there.
