Yosemite

Going into Yosemite Sunday!

I’m a little nervous about driving in on the 120 side. Tunnel restrictions are odd. Tunnel in center is 13’ but sides are 10’. My RV is 11’ 5”. Campground support says I should be fine, just keep to center in my lane. But how do I drive in with 10’ height on the sides? Anyone experience this?

Thanks.

Kathleen

The east entrance to Zion NP has a tunnel with very similar dimensions. They convert it to one-way traffic when there are RVs needing to go through. There’s also a $15 fee. You just drive down the centerline.

One ran into the side of my car in CT and its the law that I got posession unless I didn't want it.
Not having butcher skills I split it with the investigating cop who did have those skills.

Heading down to Malaquite SP at Padre Island Nat. Seashore for a week of primitive camping on the gulf side, plan to fish the Laguna Madre during the day while engaging in adult libations ( for the medicinal properties only) while "the shrimp are beginning to boil" during the evening hour.

We stayed there for a while in 2018 and we really loved it. So clean and well kept. Since then, they have more than doubled their RV sites. They are part of the G7 RV Resort Group.

Absolutely. Hope you got a shady spot. It can get warm there, especially nowadays.

Yes, we are in the original section where there are mature trees. The newer sections trees are no taller than I am and we've had triple digit temps

Ocracoke, Hateras National Seashore

Wonderful gem only reachable by ferries. Campsites are 100 yds from an endless Atlantic beach. The village is low key with the usual food and drink choices, but they are proud there are no fast food chains here. Great village for biking; you can park RV’s at the public Marina by the ferry dock for the day - no overnighting there. There are a couple private campgrounds in the village but most looked like seasonal setups and pretty cramped.
