Heading to Indiana Dunes State Park in the morning. The kids don't have school tomorrow and Monday for Columbus Day weekend, so we are going to visit a state and national park that we have never been to.

Heading to Starved Rock State Park for our final camping trip of the season. This is a premier park in our state park system with excellent hiking through canyons with waterfalls. That is just something you don't see in Illinois. We've been there many times but this is our first time in the Fall. We are hoping for some nice colors. The park is full and it's going to be great weather (lows in the mid 50s and highs near 80)! The only bad note is it is supposed to be windy, so there might be a fire ban.

Windy here in Texas too. Gusting to 39 here at Cooper Lake State Park. New Rule….no camping east of the DFW area if just a weekend trip. 3 hrs of bumper to bumper just get out of the city and we left the house at 3:00. About a 4 hr drive total. I miss Covid traffic.

Natural bridge KOA at Lexington, VA. this Sunday. Wife wants to look at the leaves, lol. From there to Walnut Hill RV camp at Staunton, VA for 3 nights, where we will have dinner with our dealer and bride. We will then drive camper to dealership and drop off for warranty work.

Unfortunately our new 265RLS is too much for our Tahoe to pull so we are grounded until the Spring Season opens or we steal a truck from a buddy.

Went to St Croix State Park (MN) for 4 nights. States larges SP. Water was turned off Oct 3rd, which ment the bathroom houses where closed, and so was the dump station. I would guess the park was 1/3 full (100 sites where full).
Beautiful weekend, dark and cloudless nights, with great star gazing.

Ours is winterized, however, my son in laws is not! Heading to West Bend state park east of Pierre SD Thursday to fish walleye on the Missouri river (Joe Creek) in the mornings. Then huntin roosters in the afternoons. This is so much fun it should be illegal...

We came out to Palo Duro canyon in the Texas Pan Handle this week. Been a few years since we’ve been. Probably my favorite Texas State Park during the cooler months. Cold nights and warm enough to break a sweat hiking during the day. Burn ban is in effect which I found is really nice. Makes for a quiet park and no smoke in the trailer. Thought I’d miss having a fire.

Leaving tomorrow from NC to Camp Margaritaville, just south of Orlando. Will spend 2 nights at the KOA at Yamassee, SC, and arrive the 12th for almost 2 weeks. We are meeting two other couples, one with a motorhome and another with a similar 5th wheel. Looking forward to it.
