Headed to Wooly Hollow SP this weekend. Haven't been there since it was redone several years back. ALL sites now have full hookups. Got a spot right on the lake.

Left the Cape Hatteras KOA a couple of days ago and now nicely ensconced at Huntington Beach State Park. However, on our last night, Mark Polk pulled in beside us. I felt like I was having a final exam when I was breaking down and hooking up to leave in the morning. I snuck a shot of his logo as I was packing up...Click image for larger version

Silver Lake/Mears, Michigan. Cold, rainy weekend this past weekend to open our camper. Took off the cover and flushed out the rv antifreeze of the lines. Took off work Friday to get it opened up and get the patio furniture out, blackstone hooked up..etc. Wife was taking a shower Saturday morning and no hot water after soaping up..."ROBBBBB". She had to rinse off in cold water. Not happy...I missed a bypass valve under the sink..."sorry honey"...she didn't let me forget it all weekend.

We really like Mohican SP campground. Another one of Ohio's best kept secrets. Riverfront sites are very scenic.

Carolina pines RV resort at Conway, SC. Beautiful resort and beautiful weather, low 80's and a nice breeze with low humidity.

Spent the weekend at Burns West just over the Texas boarder in Oklahoma. Nice place but this about as late in spring as I’d camp without shade.

Lake Isabella for the week long fishing derby.... Lots of fishing and lots of water.. The lake came up about 1.5 feet while we are out fishing in kayaks today. When we returned to our launch spot these two campers will have a surprises when they return. Kern River is running crazy fast and lakes are coming up crazy fast.

My normal spot isn’t available yet. Maybe I’ll be able to get in by mid June.

We’re at Pomona Lake, Michigan Valley campground in beautiful NE Kansas. Currently 78 degrees and East winds. It’s an awesome evening! I hope everyone has a great weekend, regardless if your camping or not.

Memorial Day night we spent at a Harvest Host - Chaplin Creek Historic Site in Franklin Grove, IL. A nice quiet shady spot with some interesting buildings to see.

Tuesday thru Thursday nights we were at Lowden State Park in Oregon, IL. Got a nice shady electric only site. This park is near the Nachusa Grasslands, home to the largest bison herd east of the Mississippi. We were fortunate enough to see many bison. Sometimes they are hard to spot as they roam over 4,000 acres.

Friday night we spent at another Harvest Host - Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. in DeKalb, IL. We drank a few Old Fashions, listed to a good band and bought a bottle of their excellent bourbon.

We spent just over $50 for five nights of camping, about what I paid for the bottle of bourbon!

Lowden is a nice park. We’ve camped there many times. If you like quiet, check out Lake Le-Aqua-Na SP in Lena, IL. It’s quiet and only a short drive to Galena.

We are at Chain O Lakes SP this weekend.
