Where are you camping this weekend?

Today we pulled into Lajitas, staying at maverick ranch RV park. Right by Big Bend

Nice sunset pic Tom. That’s now our favorite site when we stay there.

I have been wanting to go there, and my family talked me out of it. They said it’s too far, not enough to do, and the water is difficult to access for swimming.
May I ask what all you did there? Hoping I can still convince them.

Today, we are only spending the night on our way back home. But to answer your questions....

It’s in Junction. The sites are water and electric only. 30 amp only. I don’t think swimming is the top attraction, but tubing, rafting, kayaking are all great on the river. There are some nice trails for hiking. It’s a nice place to get away and relax. If you come in the summer be aware that it’s always over 105 here and it’s hard to keep a big trailer cool on 30 amps. But, that’s why you spend the day in the river staying cool [emoji3]

Tom, we had Guadalupe River booked for June of this year, but just learned that they will have the Turkey Sink section shutdown for refurbishment. I don’t think the Cedar Sage loop would accommodate us, so we will likely need to reschedule.

Trying to decide where to go.
Our camper is 30 amp, but my parents are joining us (and possibly others), and they need either a 50 amp or a site with lots of trees so they could get by with only 30 amp service.

It may be Blanco again. Sounds like I won’t be talking anyone into South Llano River SP this summer.

I would like to try Pedernales, but parents may struggle to fit their 40’ fiver in those spots. That would look like Cinderella’s step sisters trying to fit into that glass slipper.

I’ve had our NP 377 in Pedernales SP without issue.

What is the total length of your NP 377?
Also, were you able to fit your tow vehicle?

I would love to try Pedernales.

377 is roughly 42’ & yes TV fit too. Didn’t have the dually then...was a 2500. In-laws stayed with us, but had to park in the “visitor” parking and walk to us...maybe 150 yards or so. It’s a beautiful SP!

Edit: let me see if I can find the site # we had when I get home.

Edit (again): go to my photo albums and I believe I have pics from that park. Might have site #

Heck, it was my wife who had everything packed so we could get out Friday after work. We need to get those ladies together so mine can be a good influence on her.

Don't recall the name, but from my riding days(motorcycle) I recall a great bbq joint in Junction. I think eating BBQ counts as something to do.
