We had reservations at a COE park at Pomona Lake (KS) for Memorial Day but the Colonel decided at the end of April not to open the campgrounds until June 1. By then it was too late to get a reservation at the state park on the other side of the lake which remained open.

But the state park announced last week that a loop that had been closed for renovation is reopening on a walk-up basis. So I'm going to go down on Wednesday morning and see if I can get a site for the holiday weekend. If I get a site, we're taking three granddaughters, including twins who will turn 11 on Sunday.

Lancaster / New Holland KOA - PA. NJ won’t take my tax money, so I’ll give it to PA.

Doesn't look like we'll get to go for a while. Places stay booked up around here. Now I'm on call for federal jury duty for the entire month of June.

FINALLY!!!!! Took possession in early February. Still way too wintery. Then the virus.

The maiden voyage will be June2-June5 at Ravenwood RV Park, about 20 minutes north of Coeur d Alene. Really looking forward to the trip...

The state cancelled our beach front reservation on Lake Michigan for the holiday weekend since we are now closed until June 21. Not going to do much camping this summer.

We had reservations for this weekend that we made back before Thanksgiving but they were cancelled a few weeks ago, so camp driveway it is! We rescheduled our cancelled trip to the beginning of August. Hopefully we’ll get a few trips in before then as places open up. The weather here in southern Vermont is continuing to be perfect through mid next week! Have a great weekend everyone!

We are also driveway camping this weekend. With temperatures reaching 31 here (that's Celsius), I'm glad I installed a 30amp plug last year.

Another bonus is that the pool is not crowded at all!

We figured that the BLM land would be full up this weekend. We will stay home. We do have Thurs, Fri, and Monday off work to go out next weekend.

Where are you camping this weekend?

Davis Mtns State Park, Ft Davis TX, for one week starting today! But as park hosts...which we were scheduled last year, but we canceled due to Covid19 back in late March. They are zero on park hosts as the state parks in TX reopened May 18, but only to pre-existing reservations. The last 7 days an impromptu star party announced at the Prude Ranch 2 miles up the road with my 16” telescope under pristine skies and social distancing with other astronomers. I needed that fix. 7 more days of fun on the way. I hope.

Quechee pine valley koa in Vermont. One of three visitors in the park. Capacity set at 25% of available sites and they had to cancel all out of state reservations till at least june 15th. So out of 95 sites 3 are occupied. Sort of strange being in an empty park.Click image for larger version
