Alum Creek State Park
First time for us at this state park campground. Only 1 hour from home. Booked back in February for full hook-up, so won't need to address the dump station chaos on Sunday departure.

Last week we were at Camp Dearborn in Milford, MI. We were there Sunday-Friday so we could visit the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Great places to visit by the way!
A major thunderstorm rolled through Wednesday afternoon and took out power and water (campground is on a well) as well as some big trees. We were ok, but some units lost awnings. We had a lot of flooding with about 3" of water in our site for most of Thursday.
I learned a valuable lesson. Always have some water in the holding tank, even at a full hookup site. Using a 5 gallon bucket to flush your toilet and wash your hands was not the easiest. We didn't get power back by the time we left on Friday morning, but we did get water back Thursday night. A couple of hot nights sleeping but the fridge ran fine on gas and we had enough battery power to make it home.

Whispering Gulch Campground, Deadwood, SD It will be our second time at this campground. It's right in town, but situated up into a gulch so as you would never know it.

Custer State Park Stockade Lake North. Great site electric only but no big deal for three nights. Did needles road and today the wildlife road. Last night watched lighting of Mt Rushmore, pretty cool presentation.
