Where is a good place to stay around Glacier National Park?

We're headed there for a couple of nights in the second week of August. All of the sites that can be reserved are reserved in the National Park, we're looking for something in the National Forest campgrounds and almost everything is first-come-first-served. Any suggestions or tips? Just the wife and I, our dog, and a 27 foot TT.

We stayed at the KOA in St Mary on the east side of the park. It was really nice and can accommodate all sizes.

We stayed at Johnson's of St Mary. Very nice campground, close to Glacier's east entrance. And less expensive then the KOA.

We first tried the KOA, but the only site they had available it wasn't even close to level. So we went to Johnson's. This was a long time ago, back in 2003, so things may have changed.

Thanks for the replies. Those campgrounds look nice, and the National Forest Service list is very helpful. I think we're going to try the first come first served NF direction, just a little too nervous about getting stuck looking for a site all day. Being from the front range in Colorado, we've done that too many times.
