With a little ingenuity they just might work in your Cummins, Moparman.

I'm on my fourth truck (had 1 Ford, 2 Dodge, and now Chevy). From my experience, all 3 have done a fine job towing. Trailer Life just did an article comparing all three 2500's and it was a close comparison.

At a dollar per gallon, 5 gallons every 5000 miles...You call that expensive?!?! You can't even get a value meal at McDonald's for that.

maybe one day I can afford one of those "big trucks" but for now I'm stuck with my Ford F-150 with the 5.4L triton engine. It has 77,000 miles on it and never been in the shop other than scheduled maintenance. Tows my Jayflight G2 31 RKS without any problems as well as the 24 foot pontoon boat. Bottom line is, I"m Happy! lol

I have friends with the duromax tranny and they love it.
I will be in the market in a couple years (my 7.3 F250 has 255,000 basically trouble free miles). That cummins engine has always been a reliable hoss that Ford competed with when they had the 7.3. No more, Cummins now stands alone but is still very noisy.
If I were buying today I would love to have the cummins engine w/duromax transmission on a ford chasis and body! If you find one, please e-mail me ASAP! If I have to buy this year, it would be the dodge cummings and pray the body holds together.

Its a Druamax engine and Allison tranny!

Earl what are you pulling with this truck? TT 5er? Distances? Weekender or coast to coast er.
Iv got a 3/4 ton and If I had it all to do over Id spend the $400 or what ever it is now $ and step up to a 1 ton if your pulling a decent sized 5er. Im not saying you need a dually.

For me, Dodge RAM is the best for me and Ford-250 needs to be towed.

Agreed on towing the Ford but I'd throw the Dodge in the Fords bed while towing them both with a GM!

Barrels,
I'm pulling a Jay Flight 22FB, going from Texas to Florida, Colorado, Oregon, and BC. The Dodge Ram 2500 should be fine in all conditions for the 6500 max weight of the 22FB.
I test drove both the Dodge Ram 2500 and the Ford F250. Both were good but I liked the Dodge just a little better.

There is no such thing as a Cummings motor. You should really know something about a topic before you belittle it. It is called a Cummins. They also have a nice 6 speed automatic transmission that is equal to or better than the Allison.
