White Hawk Indoor Fridge
Recently purchased a White Hawk 26RBDS, and took it to the lake for the first time yesterday. Everything was simple to set up and hook up. Well I did not run the fridge on propane on my way to the lake I waited until I got to the campsite to turn it on once the camper was plugged in. The green power light comes on and it it switched to "auto" which is supposed to automatically turn on when plugged in, right? The fridge is not cooling down at all. The outdoor fridge works great and began cooling off immediately. Anyone have any tips, hints, or troubleshooting ideas? I checked all breakers and they are all good. I also tried to run the fridge off strictly propane and would not cool that way either. I do not head the compressor or anything running outside when removing the access panel.

There is no compressor. It takes a while to cool an absorption type refrigerator. Most people start them the day before a trip.

Will do. I set it up about 8pm last night and turned it on the coldest setting. Wife said there was no change this morning when she got up to leave for work. But I will check tonight when i get to the campsite and let everyone know.

Next check...are you level? Is the panel on the fridge flashing any LED? Is the "chimney" in the back (outside) hot? It should be.

Yes level, front to back and side to side. Yes chimney is hot. Well I wouldnt say so hot that you cant touch it, but definitely warmer than the rest of the material.
The panel is not flashing any LED's the green "ok" light is steady.

The chimney should be too hot to do more than a quick touch. But it does cycle so it may not be too hot 100% of the time.
Is the freezer cold? Are the cooling fins inside the fridge cold to the touch?

Yeah you definitely cant do more than just a quick touch without being too uncomfortable its that warm. The back wall of the freezer is cold to the touch. The fins in the fridge are mediocre i would say cool to the touch. Plus it was 98 degrees out yesterday with high humidity so I am thinking maybe it just is going to take a little longer than usual to cool down. Maybe next time we should plug it into shore power a day before leaving and let it get real cool first.

Yup, high outdoor temps will prevent a gas fridge from working effectively. Also, running on propane tends to be more effective than 120VAC.
Next time pre-cool the fridge for 24-48 hours before the trip.

You mentioned recent purchase. Was it new or used?
May make a difference if it is not getting cool. Mine gets cold enough to freeze in 4-5 hours when first turned on electric.

I bought used from an older couple who barely used it. They used it so little that the outside fridge still had the stickers inside it and had not been used at all. Its a 2013 model and according to previous owners had only been used a handful of times.

There are fans for the inside of the fridge that help circulate the air around the cooling fins. We've used these on both our TT's and I think they help greatly. They also keep frost on the fins to a minimum.

Also put already cold stuff in it. Makes the fridge not work as hard to get it down to temp.

There are battery powered (C or D cells I think) models. The link I posted requires tapping into a 12v source, inside light or 12v on rear of fridge.

Our 197 fridge works great. The odd time, when switching to propane, I have to turn it OFF and start over.

The manual says you may have to do that 3 times. You have to purge the air/stale gas from the lines if the tanks have been shut off since the last time you used the fridge.
