Who got to spend Labor Day camping?

Where you lucky enough to spend the long weekend camping? We didn't get to go because one of my son-in-laws was leaving for Afghanistan today.

We had relatives in from Ohio so we missed the camping fun for the first time in a few years.

Camped in the driveway since we just got the new trailer on Thursday. Still had a blast! Taking it out for real next weekend for the Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix.

We did. Probably the last trip of the year :-( now I am thinking trailer cover and winterizing. Oh well just 10 months of winter to look forward to and then camping again. I really need to move somewhere I can camp more months out of he year.

We did! A group of 4 TT's went to Cowan Lake S.P. in Wilmington, OH for the weekend. Surprisingly, the rain left us alone until this morning (Labor Day) as we were packing up. We live about 70 miles from this gem. I don't believe there is a bad site and all very spacious.

Your camping season might be shorter jayco 228 but i bet you make up for it in scenery. Your not far from the rockies. We took a ten day trip there years ago. Rented a car from Calgary and dropped it off in Edmonton. We drove through the rockies banff, jasper, lake louise (god's country). My seasons longer but i have go a few hours for any scenery (flat).

I made it out with two of the DDs. We went to Taylor Pond Campground in the Adirondacks. What a great state park. Only 25 sites and a great lake. No electric, etc which I prefer. Solar panels kept the battery up to snuff. Best of all the girls learned to bait their own hooks and take the fish off! Only bad moment was when the 7yo got a leech on her hand. I thought she was being eaten by a bear based on her screams

We did, not in our own camper but we were in the cape. 2 more trips for us. Vermont in a couple weeks, then the Cape for Columbus day weekend. Then winterize for our 1st time.

Waiting for my trailer to be built so I sat this weekend out. That being said, I went to the RV Hall of Fame Museum in Indiana.
You want to talk about some cool stuff, saw the first Coachmen trailer, Jayco pop-up and a whole lot of cool early 50`s and 60 `s trailers and motorhomes. I would suggest anyone that can get by there do so. It is well worth your time.

You are right about the scenery. We tend to be more nice lake and beach people rather than the mountains. We usually make one trip a year to the Rockies. I get to see them traveling with work so I like to go somewhere different when we camp. We probably all take what we have in our own backyards for granted a little I imagine. I would just like 2 more months of summer :-)

I, too, am waiting for my new trailer to be built, but we rarely get out this weekend anyway. My wife and I are teachers, so we usually try to get in a last hurrah at the beach before we go back in August. Labor Day weekend is just too busy a time of year for us to get away. Another week or two, however, and weekends are fair game again!

We driveway camped this Labor Day - didn't want to dodge all the traffic. Had a lot of fun - we just pretended the house wasn't there. And Wolverine - thanks for the tip on the RV Hall of Fame. We'll try to see it next time we're out that way. BTW, have you ever been to the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit ? There used to be the wooden trailer camper Henry custom built for his friend Charles Lindbergh in there somewhere. Pretty cool, too.

Tinlizzie, I am an hour away from Henry Ford Museum and have never went. Not big on the city....the big city.
I did see the first motorhome that was built of a model T however. Let me tell you, it was primitive.
