who has a 195rb

We have a 195rb, absolutely love it, it is the perfect size for the DW and me, tows great and didn't cost an arm and a leg, just wish the black water tank was a little bigger. just wondering what other owners think of theirs

We have a 2015 195RB Baja and it's perfect for the two of us as well. Our combo has towed very well - almost 4000 miles this last season and have about 6000 miles planned for the upcoming season. We are able to store it around back at the house which is a big plus. It's a great little camper and we are extremely happy with it.

It is a great camper and like you we poured a pad behind the house so we can keep her close.

Our 195 is our second camper. We had the first one for 28 years. We are delighted with our new Jayco. All the amenities just like home.

We have a permanent campsite with an outhouse, so the black tank size is of no concern.

Not yet. We ordered it in October. Not too many shipments come this far east so we have had to wait. We wanted to take it to Florida in ten days but its not really essential as most of the Florida trip will be backcountry canoeing in a tent.
We just were hoping it would come for a shakedown cruise before we head to Nevada in April.
Oh well the dealer can shovel the snow around it if it comes before we get back from Florida.

Are you taking it to Nevada? We took ours to southern Utah last September (Kanab). That was about 2400 miles round trip and it did great. We are taking it for a week in southeastern Nevada early April and back to Kanab again in September.

We added a second battery for the upcoming season and we've also picked up a 32-gallon Barker 4-wheel tote for the gray water tank. If we only use the black tank overnight we've found we can go several days before needing to dump. With the 32-gallon Barker we can empty the gray tank twice before heading over to a dump station with the tote.

Well Nevada Yeah.. But that will be totalling some 6-8,000 miles for its first trip. It could come this week. So we get to outfit it in the snow and below freezing.. We live close to Auburn.

I think you will really like it, has so much going for it, great camper for 2 people.

We really like ours farthest from home has only been 300 miles to south east West Virginia. Perfect size for the 2 of us and yes the tanks could be bigger but can't have everything

I bought a 32 gallon portable gray/black water tank seems to work for us need to take to the campground dump station every 2, 3 days

It's here! But the sway command mechanism isn't. The prep is the new standard feature. The actual gizmo is something that still has to be installed.

Jayco flubbed this one and they admit to it. We will do a partial inspection of it tomorrow but refuse delivery till the part is shipped.

It's all good. We wont take it till March.. and our Florida trip is going to be in a tent which it mostly was going to be anyhow.

I am just not comfortable being a new TT tower down I-81 in the winter with heavy winds over the Blue Ridge Mtns and trucks without some sort of sway control.

congratulations your gona love the little thing. what kind of equalizer hitch are you using ? we have an E2 and it has sway control built in

Honda manual says no weight distribution hitch should be installed.

really, what does the manual say the towing capacity is and max tongue weight is. does it have a class 2 or 3 hitch.

class 3 5000 lbs max tow weight up to 600 lbs tongue weight.

Could be cause the Ridgeline is half car unibody construction. There are other threads on it around here.

just curious, guess you could be right about the unibody thing. I've just never towed with out an eq hitch

There is quite a discussion about this on the Ridgeline Owners Club site. It looks to be centered around the parsing of the language in the owners manual - some interpret it to be a "cya" by Honda as an improperly configured wdh could easily overload the the front axle rating, which looks to be about 3100lbs. Perhaps a sway-control only device - several manufacturers make friction devices that can be used both with and with-out a wdh. It looked to me like a number of the Ridgeline owners were using a wdh w/sway control.

I use an Andersen no-sway hitch. I could see how it could be used in this situation to take advantage of the built-in sway control but not really utilize the weight-distributing portion - just tighten the chains up enough to ensure the ball always turns with the trailer but not so tight as to engage weight distribution.

The sway command device is a new feature for 2016 and I do recall a thread on here about that:

We tow our 195rb with our Ridgeline no sway control no equalizer hitch and have absolutely no problem with sway. The trailer tows like a dream. Truck has enough power to comfortably tow @55-60 mph above that really have to push and milage really suffers

Where do you typically tow? The wind on the Great Plains concerns me.

We live and camp western Ohio eastern Indiana mostly, cross wind or from trucks passing has never been felt. It's just the faster I tow the lower the mpg stay under 60 and get 11-12 above 60 and in the mountains and its 8-9. But stability has never been an issue
