30 miles to our closest Jayco dealer. They had the model we were looking for, in stock.

For my second motorized coach I flew to Florida and drove it back to Maine when I lived there. The dealer reimbursed me for two days in a hotel and the flight cost (after buying) Saved over 15k over the lowest price within a 5 hour drive of my home. I learned early on that selling dealers will not repair anything within months. Now I just find a local repair shop and use them. My last repair on my new coach (refrigerator circuit board) was diagnosed the next day and all I waited for was the part to arrive. They billed Norcold directly for the repair.

230 miles one way. I drove there in the early morning, did the PDI which took me about 6 hours, then drove home.

I wanted to buy local, but I was getting a floor plan that was dealer stock only (i.e. no longer being made). Working in the automotive industry, I asked if the local dealership I had bought my previous trailer from would do a dealer swap with the other store. I even offered to tow their trade to the other store. They declined, but said they would still service my unit if I brought it to them.

So far only 1 small warranty issue, which the local dealer fixed with no problem. I have never been back to the selling dealer.

685 miles, one way, way back in 2014. I was a lot younger then! From near Buffalo, MO to dealer in Marshfield, OH. Got a great deal and it turned out to be a great trip too!

4438 kms each way. Fort Nelson, BC to Hamilton, ON. This is our second Seneca we purchased from Sicard's. We have never had a warranty issue with a dealer Happy Trails out of Grande Prairie, AB. Which is still 586 kms from Fort Nelson. Both dealers have talked back and forth and I have also been reimbursed for any out of pocket expenses if required.

1,155 miles, Littleton, CO to Pasco, WA, Sept 2018. We camped 800 yards from the dealer for 5 days. Everyday, I would drop off the Class A at the dealer with a list of "To-Dos", pick it up in the evening and repeat. Nothing major, just a lot of manufacturing errors. Spent the days in Pasco motorcycling around the area.

Returning home about 250 miles from Pasco, discovered the coach batteries were dead in spite of requesting a battery load test prior to leaving. I suspect that someone just checked voltage level and did not do a load test. Drove into an Interstate Battery store, got upgraded batteries which Jayco refunded the standard battery cost.

Since we were able to camp on "top of the dealer", I would never travel that far without camping nearby to work out the new RV issues. In 5 days, the dealer was able repair items that would of taken 2-3 months in the Denver area at the local Jayco dealer (Camping World).

I bought from RVONE 90 miles away even though closer Camping World. However I've found service at RVONE to be "hap-hazard and lack of concern" as getting a callback/response to email is nearly impossible.

1122 miles from Lake George CO to a Chicago suburb to pick up a Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pack toy hauler. It was kind of amusing. The box was about 18 ft and the dad that bought it for his wife and two children realized after his 50-mile Shakedown trip to his in-laws home that it was too small. So when we bought it it was like new, took it back home and never had a problem with it. Sold it after nearly 2 years and I got exactly what I paid for it, although I had added several hundred dollars worth of mods.
Then we ordered a Jacoy Eagle. Drove 996 miles to Davenport Iowa to pick that one up. We told that thing from 12 to 15,000 miles over nearly 10 years before selling it last fall. It was for all practical purposes absolutely flawless.

Pretty Far

I drove my 2017 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36LA from Southwestern Arkansas to Davenport Iowa to trade for my 2021 Jayco Greyhawk 29MVP. I did one Walmart overnight going up and two going home. Going to Davenport I went through St Louis and that's 720 miles. The roads were so bad in St Louis I came home through Kansas City which was 840 miles. Total 1560

Reno to Louisiana. Flew out and picked up our RV. Took 10 days coming back. Spent a couple nights in New Orleans and San Antonio and a couple in flagstaff. Saved us 10K minus the airline tickets. Our local dealership is crappy and I would never bring it there for service. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

1st brand new one I bought was 3 years ago, it was a Jayco and we went from Quincy CA to Fresno CA, 321 miles one way. We traded in the Jayco for a Keystone Cougar last Sep in Kaysville UT, on the last day of our vacation. Drove from the campground on Hill AFB to the dealer, about 9 miles. We picked up the new unit, drove back to Hill, camped that night and towed it home the next morning. Hill to Quincy, 616 miles.

Washington state to Indiana in 2012 and Washington state to southern Utah in 2017. We did have a problem with the 2017 rv and had a very hard time trying to find a dealer to do the warranty work. They only want to work on what they sell.

So... I've been wondering who went the farthest to pick up new RV from RV dealership. And do you stay with that dealership for RV issues?
We purchased over the internet from a place in West Palm Beach, FL living in Southern CA we flew back to pick up our Seneca in 2012. 2627 miles from door to door if we had driven. The up side we spent the first month in the motorhome touring FL. Our 2012 had a 60 day previous owner, so Jayco would not honor any warranty and we knew that going into the purchase. Freightliner does honor their warranty, which was used a couple of times. There were several issues as with all units I dealt with myself.

The best Colerain RV Cincinnati OH

We traveled 1100 miles from Port Charlotte FL to Colerain RV in Cincinnati OH. The best price and service. We are full time for three years and over 25,000 miles a year. Not one problem.

We went from Tennessee to Orlando to purchase our Jayco, we had a trip planned for Disney, stopped at the General (this wasn't planned) just outside Tampa, loved the Jayco Seneca and traded our Georgetown and went on to Disney the next day, love our Jayco except for a leak on the slide out.

Twin Cities, MN to Mesa, AZ in 2015 for our non-Jayco trailer. Determined after buying it, but before driving down to Mesa, that we need a new tow vehicle. That was a good buy, the trailer from a distant dealer was a disaster. Traded it in last year at a dealer 15 miles from home because it leaked. Replaced the TV on Monday, it will be interesting to see if I have now paired my trailer and TV well.
