Who's Braving The Heat?

Not Me! It's triple digits up here in Northern Missouri. I really don't want to put the extra strain on my truck and TT A/C. Not to mention burn bans throughout the state so no campfire. C-mon Mother Nature, give us a break, PLEASE!

I have to every day at my job, no AC on the boats. 8PM and its 89.2* here. Hot. No camping til August though, but it probably will not be any cooler then.

The day we pulled into camp last week, it reached 113degrees (SoCal). It only hit 95 today. Heat sure makes the pool feel good

Heading home tomorrow and will be back to the cooler marine layer climate

Camped the past two weeks in the hot, humid lake region of Minnesota. Not overly comfortable outside, but the Jayco sure was NICE.

I'm still braving it (in Missouri as well), but ours in perm parked so all I have to do is drive there, unlock and kick the AC on. Both AC's run 24/7 and it's usually close to midnight before I see inside temps below 80*. But it's brand new and I'm gonna use it..

We stay in Tucson June, July, August, and start our camping in Sept thru May. Just to darn hot and monsoon start up in July and it could get pretty nasty.

It was 119 the day we left Boulder City Nevada. Both nights it barely dropped below 100F and was maybe 95 first thing the next morning. Two mornings in Yellowstone we saw 35F and yet two weeks - BAM back in the heat again. Thank god for A/C. After almost five straight weeks - time to head home.

We're heading out today for a long weekend in the Smokies. High temps in the high 80's, maybe low 90's, which is a break from the heat here. Not only will the pool feel good, but so will tubing in the mountain river - that water stays cool year round.
I usually run 7-10 miles in the mornings when camping, will have to leave earlier than usual

I full time so I'm right in the middle of it, but in all fairness, I'm hosting on the gulf coast at a beach park so it rarely gets over high 80's. The the humidity is usually 100%. Both a/c's work well and cycle on/off most all day except in the absolute heat of the day. It is always comfortable inside however.

Your cooking and I am soaking... we have had rain almost every day... only 4 days above 80.. and only had to water the lawn twice so far this year... it's pouring out right now and I have to load the camper today for a trip ..

We just got back from Johnson's Shut-ins State Park near the Mark Twain National forest in South eastern Mo and had a great time. The Black River made the heat bearable. We are headed to Cuivre River State Park , near Troy, MO in a couple of weeks. The open burn ban is a dissappointment to the kids but totally understandable under the current conditions. We still roasted marshmallows over the gas grill.

Average high in Phoenix is 106 and that is average. We are heading to Ketchum Idaho and then Seattle WA for a month to visit our sons. Any ideas how to move RV from back yard, through the alley behind our house, then to our drive way without taking 2 cold showers after the adventure?

Just got back from our first trip, and got to 100 yesterday here in central texas. AC was working hard all day, but it was comfortable in the TT. But here in central texas, if I waited until it cooled off, we would only be able to camp 2 months out of the year

Here in Luray, VA, we have a pretty famous underground cavern that stays 56 degrees year round. And the owners allow residents of Page County to come in anytime the caverns are open and enjoy Nature's A/C free of charge. That's how we stay cool.

After looking at some of the temps in other parts of the country, I thought we were hot at 100!!

But 113?? WOW!!

You know.... It's so hot I saw robins blowin' on the worms before they ate them!!

I have been camping every weekend and starting tomorrow after work at 1600, or 2200, or 0600 Friday morning I am camping for the next 17 days.

Spent some time this week camping at Lakeside State Park in western NY, 93 when we set up Monday afternoon with high gusting winds, haven't had significant rain in weeks. But the A/C cooled it off nice and we slept in comfort, Monday night. Tuesday not as bad, and tonight wife and kids are still there, but now in a potential severe weather area, storms moving thru the area tonight into early am. I'll check on them in the am to make sure all fared ok.

We just purchased our first "new to us" TT last week and took it out this past week-end. It was steamy for sure, but we had a good time and the A/C about froze me out.

But going the TT way was going to be the only way that I could get my wife to start camping again. Especially in GA.

Come on up here, it was just over 20 degrees Celsius yesterday and is forecast to be about the same today. It was really hot during the Calgary Stampede but my relatives visiting from New Zealand loved it and now they are complaining how cold it is back home, then again it is their winter.
