Thanks everyone! I enjoyed the posts. We enjoy the outdoors and have tried to camp as a family at least once each year. Setting up the enormous tent and lugging the gear takes too much time away from R&R. We bought a small camper with the intent of traveling to new sights each year around the northeast. We took only three short trips last year as a trial but have big plans over the next few months. it's about committing to more time to explore and enjoy recreational activities. Excellent point! Camping is a great excuse not to do chores around the house. When we are planning spring outdoor projects now, we think "what will survive when we are not home for 2 weeks and every weekend". Definitely puts things into perspective.

I started camping in a tent as a child going to the lake and loved the time I got to spend with family and friends. .. then I began my life camping as an adult with a hippy van, upgraded to a cab over on a truck , then to a class a motor home, then a bigger motor home then a tt then my latest tt. it has all the amenities if we chose to use them but we love the time outside away from the tv and computer. I do love the space inside if the weather turns bad and the bed that is dry and cool when we have been out on the lake all day. My wife said this isn't a camper , its our lake cabin which sounds good to me. We have taught our children to love it and I hope one day they can teach their children to love it too

We wanted to see our great country, but due to DW diet restrictions (due to celiac disease) we knew it would be extremely difficult at meal time. Last year we decided to try bringing our kitchen with us, and we're hooked. Making another trip to the mid-west this year, as well as exploring more of New England.
