Why I bought an RV

Did the southwest the last few days. Off today for Yellowstone. Taking the scenic route we are supposed to be at Madison campground tomorrow night. Hopefully there is a Wal-Mart target etc between here and there.

The previous owner was a schoolteacher. So he had 2 months every year to drag the wife&kids all over the place.

When we tent camped I brought a flushable porta-potty and a shower tent to keep it in. At least in the middle of the night we only had to go a few steps to have a bathroom.

Air mattress made all the difference. I was actually comfortable. Well at least as comfortable as I can get with a chainsaw going beside me. Gosh my boy can snore!! Gave it to some women camping next to us as I couldn't get it in our luggage. For now the tent is coming home. It will be a long time before I use it again! Another plus for the RV It has heat! Yellowstone got down into the 40's the last 2 nights. As long as we stayed in the sleeping bags we were good, but my bladder calls at the most inconvenient times. Again, another positive for the RV! Ended up having a great time and made some really good memories with my son before he heads off to college. But being surrounded by trailers had me drooling. Oh and the whole grizzly bear thing too.

Glad to here you had a really good time. We just got back from a long weekend canoeing in the BWCA. Used the small tent. DW & I had Thermorest sleeping pads. Our son, used my old foam pad (1/2" thick). He complained about it being uncomfortable, but he survived. Good sleep, is so important, for any trip.

To spend more time outside and not shut up in a stuffy motel. Like having all of my own stuff with me and don't have to lug it in unpack repack lug back out when leaving. We love cooking outside and eating outside when weather permits. Much more relaxing.
