Window treatment repair/replacement

Does anyone have experience with window curtain repair/replacement? I particular I am referring to pull down blinds found in the bedro on 2012 Jayco Greyhawks but am sure this same kind of window treatment is used on many other Jayco models and perhaps on other brands. I have one that the sting has broken and it appears one would need to remove the valance surrounding the window just to get to the shade and I can't seem figure out how the valance is attached.

I have the same problem on both of my bedroom day/night blinds. The string is broken or undone and there is no way to keep the blinds in the up/open position. I have nothing to offer in the way of advice, but I will be following your post to hopefully benefit from the advice that others may post here. Good luck.

If it were me, I think I'd just replace the blind itself. A friend I camp with re-strung one of his blinds and said he'll never do it again. He'll just buy a new blind. PIA he says. They do sell the stuff to do it though.

I have had good luck replacing the strings even did the large back window with 4 strings.I got kits from Dirty Blind Man.com it had all the instructions. It is time consuming. The valance are screwed with L brackets I took screws off of valance not wall. Good Luck, good rainy day project.

also..he says you cannot remove the valance without removing the shade first. He said the shade screws into the valance. Therefore, you may not have to remove the valances to fix/replace your shade. If it's even possible.

Note: He has a Rockwood..not a Jayco. There may be differences.

I replaced both of my slide side window pleated shades with 2" faux wood blinds because I was tired of fighting with the pleated shades. You must first remove the shade. On mine, the shade was attached to the valance by 2 screws on each end of the top of the blind. Note: the screws are on the inside [window side] of the blind and are easily missed. Once you get the blind out, you'll see how the valance is attached. On mine it was screwed into the slide ceiling. Hope this helps.

Not sure it was a Jayco blind but it looked like mine. Also found a blind repair kit at Camping World. Haven't tried it yet. I think the bigger issue will be getting the valance off so I can get to the blind.
