Winegard New Setup

Hello fellow full time RVers. We are Canadians on our first snowbird trip to AZ & CA. Our unit is equipped with Winegard system. Anybody out there know the activation procedures? Any tips, suggestions, etc?

I have a Winegard satellite dish and have always called a Winegard 1 800 number printed on the equipment or in the owners manual. My equipment is put away for winter storage over an hour's drive from me, or I would look it up for you.

With all your camper's paperwork and manuals, you should have a small Winegard manual. It has the login procedure to set it up initially. It is not hard, just not the most user friendly. First thing is to make sure it is turned on. Don't know what camper you have, but our Winegard box, a white square looking gizmo, is mounted on the ceiling in our bedroom, with a power switch next to it. Winegard sets up its own Wi-Fi within the camper, no internet needed or available at this point. You can now proceed to set it up, using a phone, tablet or laptop. The bigger the screen, the better when looking at something strange, lol. On whichever device you choose, you must go to your settings and your Wi-Fi and select the Wingard choice that should be there. This is where most folks get tripped up, I did and had to call the company. Now your device and Winegard in the camper are on the same network if you will and need to be to be able to access the next step. You will then open up a browser window, and why I prefer a larger screen, and type 10.11.12.1 if I am not mistaken, doing this out of memory, our camper is getting warranty work done. This should open up the Winegard home page, and where you will input the data from the manual. Again, your device needs to be on the Winegard Wi-Fi so you can access the home page. I may be forgetting something, but I am sure someone else will pipe in. Winegard is nothing more than a fancy antenna, and I think it works well. Ironically, ours quit about a month before going to the shop and will be curious to see what went bad.
